I’ve been to several A&W locations before, but this one in Wilmington, NY truly stands out. From the moment we walked in as a family of three, we felt warmly welcomed. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and even arranged the table to comfortably seat us.
Our server, Hannah-Joy, deserves special recognition—she completely understood the assignment when we asked to split the bill three ways. She grouped our orders flawlessly, and everything arrived without a hitch. The food was just what you’d expect from A&W—classic, satisfying, and served promptly.
The restaurant was also impressively clean. The team was already tidying up the moment we stood up, showing how much they care about maintaining a neat and pleasant space.
Great service, great attitude, and a clean environment—this A&W location nailed it. We’ll definitely be back!
We stopped here on a whim, and I'm glad we did. The food was great--I had a spicy double cheeseburger that was really good. But most of all, the root beer float I had was just like I remembered from my childhood. Both the ice cream and the root beer were awesome, and they were served up in a frosty glass mug just like a classic A&W float! It was well worth stopping by for lunch.
The best onion rings on earth!

Old school restaurant from the bygone era, first one I had which is a self service restaurant. Very cool, the root beer in there is made from the old formula which is from cane sugar.

Waited 25 minutes…no one took my order while other groups came after me and their orders were taken. I guess one person isn’t enough.
Great burgers and floats! Old school-nostalgic building. Always stop by on my visits to LP.

As a whole entirely unimpressive.
Don't waste your money on cheese curdsmost of the curd come out hallow. The papa burger comes out Luke warm and soggy. Corn dogs for kids meals came out inconsistently heated some were malten hot some were cold. Fries are medium low quality. The 'suprise' that comes with the kids meals were shot size plastic versions. The root beer that has always been A&W thing now mostly taste like soft valina soda not sharp carbonated tastiness.

The staff here are some of the nicest, friendliest people you'll ever meet! An absolute joy to go in and order from. The food is EXACTLY what you're looking for if you're looking for a burger place — iconically all-American fare. The location is picturesque and dining outside is both peaceful and relaxing. I cannot recommend this particular A&W location enough!

I stopped here after driving up Whiteface Mountain. It was very filling and reasonably priced. The food came out quick and it held me over for my 4 hour drive home.
