Wonderful experience - High Falls Gorge is doable for any age or athletic ability(or lack of). The views are stunning and the trails and walkways are the best you will find anywhere. Don’t miss visiting.

High Falls Gorge was a great experience! The trails were easy to follow, and the views of the waterfalls were stunning. The walkways made it safe and accessible, while still feeling close to nature. Overall, a beautiful and relaxing stop near Lake Placid.

Fantastic views and a lovely hiking experience

Beautifully kept private property, though the ticket price is a bit steep. Booking online saved 10%. We visited on Labour Day weekend (Sunday) and the parking lot was still empty at 9:15 a.m. The walk through the gorge takes about 1-1.5 hours—just enough to enjoy the vibe. The highlight was the clear, gushing water surrounded by lush forest, making the whole place feel peaceful and refreshing

High Falls Gorge is a straight-up scam. This is NOT nature — it’s a fenced-off, glorified boardwalk theme park built around one mediocre waterfall. They charge you almost $20 per person to walk less than a quarter mile. Twenty bucks for 0.25 miles?! Absolutely ridiculous.

This place exists to milk money out of tourists who don’t know any better. It’s laughable that they’re selling “nature” behind a paywall. You don’t experience the outdoors here — you get babysat by rails, signs, and fake “educational” panels. If you came looking for a hike, or even a little adventure, forget it.

Who’s this place really for?
• Parents dragging kindergarteners who can’t handle a real trail
• People with serious mobility issues (and that’s the ONLY valid reason to come here)
• Self-absorbed Instagram “influencers” clogging up every corner with their butts in the frame, zero consideration for anyone else

Everyone else? You’re being robbed. This isn’t worth your time, your gas, or a single dime. The Adirondacks are FULL of real hikes and waterfalls — actual nature you can enjoy without being nickel-and-dimed.

Save your money. High Falls Gorge is a tourist trap, plain and simple.

It was a great walk. Afterwards we did the nature walk that they now have. I've been coming here since I was younger and it keeps getting better.

The falls impressed me more than I thought they would having been to Watkins glen and the finger lakes area. Short non committal trip and some great views. Easy parking, hold on tight to your phone. Lol. Tried some long exposure shots handheld from my phone

Nice forested walking loop. Make sure you take the trail down to the river at the parking lot to see the falls.

Very cool to see much smaller area of the gorge that you see compared to ausable chasm. Paths & trails well maintained. Doesn't take long to see the gorge area but there is a walking trail through the woods that adds some more time to the visit.
