Don’t waste your money. There’s many other pretty places in the northern Adirondacks that are free.
The place is NOT ADA compliant. I specially asked if we would have any issues since i use a wheel chair for extended trips. My friend has no issue pushing down the gorge but coming back up, I had to walk up which was slow going. A maintenance employee showed up with a golf cart and we rode back to office.
Tried registering my concern about the challenged that I just experienced. However, the office personnel who sold me the just did not care, did not listen.
Again don’t waste your money at High Falls Gorge!!! AVOID!

Coming here is a staple for every ADK trip I have ever taken, I will never complain about the price because it’s so worth the breathtaking views you have during any season. I will not knock off any starts but will say that it should have been discounted a little more the price you pay for a good chunk of it to be closed this year. Also I get being busy can be overwhelming to cashiers but the middle aged lady cashing us out had a crazy attitude.

Supposedly it is a “private” property - how that family managed to grab this natural area is beyond my ability to comprehend, they are not even natives !!!

The map said that it was very busy at the time I wanted to go. I was going to NOT stop because of this, but I am glad I changed my mind. It is a beautiful walk, super easy, and the trails were well maintained. Part of the walkway was under construction, but it was still worth the stop. It wasn’t too busy on the trails.

High Falls Gorge is a beautiful spot to visit,
especially if you’re a fan of waterfalls and nature walks. The views are stunning, and the trails are really well-maintained with some great lookout points. That being said, the park itself is a bit smaller than I expected, it doesn’t take long to get through the entire trail and also a part of the trail near the waterfall was closed unfortunately. Still, it’s worth the trip if you’re in the area, just don’t plan on spending more than an hour or so here.
This place is a must visit without a doubt.Had an amazing time.
