Highly recommend the zoom wine tasting! It's a unique and fun experience. Darell was the perfect host.

Lily is a great waitress! Hostess Hailey is very polite & professional. The "Peppermint Patty" (Peppermint schnapps and hot cocoa, topped with whipped cream) was delicious! For "Sushi Sunday's " special for VDAY was the 2 heart special, which was so cute! French Onion Soup is AMAZING! Glad there's a variety of choices (if you not looking for cafeteria food), it's right in front of the waffle cabin, with nice views of the mountain from the window. Everything is delicious, will come back for lunch here again! COVID Safety: limited capacity, all tables are 6ft, santizer is provided, tables are clean, there is a wait (sometimes 15-20 mins) when it's busy. There is a limit on your time at tables to 30 minutes.

Virtual wine tasting . For this last Christmas gift, my three daughters gave me a virtual wine tasting gift. My middle daughter went to Cal Poly SLO so we are very familiar with J. Lohr, but this virtual wine tasting event was truly a fantastic. our virtual host was Darrell Marcus and he was a truly fun, informative and insightful. Invited my girlfriend, my brother and his fiancé and my Mom. We had a grand time. In this tough time to find fun, this virtual wine tasting was a grand time. They sent me four bottles of their premium wines and tasted them while Darrell explained the wine and background of the wine and winery. Fascinating and fun. Totally recommend this event.

Our company had a virtual wine tasting with Darrell Marcus. He was super knowledgeable and fun. Plus the wine tasted great. What a great way to celebrate the holidays in this pandemic!

J. Lohr is the Best. This local winery during Covid goes above and beyond. First of all, for this price point, you can do no better. Their wines are truly top notch/amazing. We stopped by as we were in the area and bought 4 cases of merlot and chardonnay --both delicious and inexpensive. Wonderful holiday gifts! We are set. They also offer a delightful virtual wine tasting. Wine mailed to you in advance! Wow!The kindness of the employees is above and beyond. I have bought wine there for nearly 10 years and will happily continue to do so. Thank you so much for being San Jose's local "go to" winery on the same street (Lenzen) as San Jose Unified District office. Can't wait to support you move after Covid. Best of luck to J. Lohr.

Just had a virtual wine tasting experience with Julie. She made it incredibly fun, relaxed and an engaging environment. I was definitely a little skeptical doing wine tasting virtually but she made it just like being in a tasting room. We tried several different wines that were mailed to us in advance of the tasting. Most of them I enjoyed and a couple I didn't. Pretty much what you would expect out of a tasting room as well. The Tower Road petite Sirah was definitely my favorite. I highly recommend trying out the virtual tasting until we can safely get back to tasting in person.

I waited 45 minutes for bagel and cream cheese, and wasted my time. If you have any options, I would not recommend trying here.

We are very displeased! I was quite taken back when we had to pay a large fee at a toll booth before we could drive up the mountain. The cost for a driver is $15. If there is 1 passenger its an additional $15.($30) if you have 3 or 4 more passengers its an additional $25. ($40.) And if you have 6 its an additional $40. ($55.). Apperently this a DISCOUNT price. Due to covid the Castle and gift shop isn't open, Elevator is not working, and venturing up to the famous lookout at the summit is prohibited. So you have the ride up and back in which you can pull off and take pictures along the way.

Located in the heart of downtown San Jose, J. Lohr will wow you with their A+ warm customer service welcome! The staff is very knowledgable and friendly as soon as you walk in until the moment you leave. $15 for six tastings and if you purchase two bottles, the tasting is free! the wines are very reasonably priced and range from under $20 to $50, although some are reserved for members only. Overall, a lovely place and definitely recommended for your San Jose "urban wine country" visit.

We were excited to see the cozy atmosphere of the place, but that’s about where the excitement ended. We waited 10 minutes for someone from the staff to talk to us, another 5 to be sat, another 10 to get menus. Our food, which was sandwiches and soups, took an hour to come out of the kitchen...and didn’t come out at the same time. Then, we had to ask a few times to get silverware, napkins and pickles. The place was literally half empty when we got our meals. Honestly, the food wasn’t horrible for a ski resort- it was hot and exactly as described... but the service was frustrating, especially for a family looking to get lunch and get back on the mountain. When we confronted the manager about the ticket time, they explained that they were short a staff member and discounted us...$5. Overall, it might be best to find one of the other restaurants so you can get back out to the slopes within an hour of sitting down.

Fancy music, fancy seating and fancy prices. But they don’t know how to operate a restaurant. Gave out 1/4 main course dishes before the appetizer, then the poorly assembled and poorly planned cheese board and then 2 more meals and then 15 minutes later the 4th meal comes out. Waitress avoided us and finally admitted it was training day to us. Only problem was she was the one that was training people and she couldn’t even serve our table. She gave us a small discount for the food arriving late but the price was still outrageous for the service delivered.

This place is for customer service. I walked in here with my friends and we are on the younger side (early 20s) and the employee who helped us was very unpleasant. She was rude and refused to take my friends passport- she was also listening in to our conversations and made a sour face to what we were talking about. I don't doubt this place has great wine but learn to be kind to your customers.
