Me and a friend left Cape Vincent and went to White face mountain for the day. We found this awesome little motel, bar/restaurant to stay for the night. Hungry Trout. . The Owner was a really nice guy. Told us he lived in Manhattan. The rooms are great and cozy. And with a great viewWe had the best Duck wonton and poutine ever here. The whole experience was beyond what we expected, also pet friendly. The food was amazing. We'll be back when the weather is warmer. 5+ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lots of gluten free options! Delicious French onion soup (sans bread). Ask about the gluten free options. We loved the decor and the service was incredible. Celiac approved.Dietary restrictions: Great for gluten free. Celiac approved

We came here for a later dinner at around 8pm. The staff were all really nice and chatted with us. Our food was good, pretty classic pub food. Delicious potato salad. Great place for to grab a cozy dinner!

I really hate to leave this review… but I have to. Since this restaurant/resort changed owners, service has gone way down hill. We are locals and the last six times we had ordered food to go, the person that answers the phone says she will take our name and number and “they” will call you back when “they” are ready to take our order. They have only called back one time and that was 30 minutes later just to take the order! I understand being busy! I understand staffing issues! I get it. But WHY? Either say you are not taking orders or take the order and give us a time when it will be ready! Simple. Don’t take a message and never call back. Remember, we locals are here year round. We patronize the local businesses even during the off-season. Like I said, I hate to leave this review, but something needs to change here. By the way, the food here is very good. The wait staff (in person dining) is very good. I hope that management/ownership reads this review and makes some changes. Until then, we are no longer going to even attempt take out and are not going to bother with in-house dining. Sorry.

We had passed by this place on many occasions but will not make that mistake again. We sat on the patio which (after the annoying barking dog left) was a beautiful setting overlooking the river and Whiteface Mt!! The food was delicious and the service just what I expect. I had the lobster roll and some peanut butter pie for dessert - great choice if I do say so myself!

Super nice location for dinner with a gorgeous view of the AuSable river. They even allow dogs on the deck! Catherine was our waitress and she was wonderful. She recommended us the ribs and IT WAS HUGE! The half rack was bigger than most full racks. We can’t wait to come back and try other stuff on the menu!
Kind of Dark and Gloomy. Quite pricey for what it is. Staff more interested in socializing amongst themselves than serving.

We had dinner here yesterday and the food was amazing we had the fish and chips and the chicken platter, I highly recommend, we also had the friendliest waitress who seemed to always be smiling, we can’t remember her name but it started with an M 10/10 recommend her as your waitress we will be back!

Let me tell you we had a fantastic time, the food was amazing. They are doing some awesome things with this restaurant. We had the nicest waitress who made the experience even better I would recommend having her take your tables there was a few of us and she nailed everything with a smile We can’t wait to come back

What a special place. Fantastic little pub with great food and drinks, a short drive from Whiteface Mountain. Beautiful back deck with the river and falls, and a diverse food and drink menu. A must for locals or visitors to Wilmington and Lake Placid.

The brussel sprouts were barely cooked, hard to eat. The waiters were permanently distracted even though there were very few patrons. Expensive for what it offers.
