The twice fried french fries are a must, but really everything is good. Also the best place for cocktails in the Catskills. Becomes a great scene on weekends with live music. Worth checking out.

Food was good but way overpriced for the portions. Then, we waited over 45 mins to pay the bill. We didn’t see the server for an hour after our food came out. When we asked again for the check we got a very curt response that they were “working on it”, then a 20% auto gratuity was charged that actually equaled closer to 24% of the bill. Skip the trip.

Winter Acorn Squash entree was amazing. Went with three other couples...server, Jessica, was STELLAR! gave each couple a separate check with no hassle, excellent service and super entertaining. Everyone enjoyed their food and the atmosphere is welcoming. Definitely returning.

My fiancé and I were in New York recently for a business meeting, and found ourselves with a free evening to spend with friends.Initially, we were apprehensive about driving into the mountains on a rather cold Saturday night, but the reservations our party made at Babbler's made every mile and shiver worth it!To start with, the wine selection was fantastic and we were told it would be growing soon. Our server, Jessica made a fantastic suggestion to pair one of their Chardonnay options with the Butternut Squash Risotto, which, I must say was so delectable and creamy! My fiancé, a meat potatoes man through and through, definitely enjoyed the Steak Frites. Our friends both ordered and loved the Lobster Bisque as well. The atmosphere was absolutely buzzing in the best way possible. We took notice of the good natured attentiveness of every staff member, from the bar to the bus boys.Jessica didn't fail to check in with us at all the right times; no interrupting us mid-forkfull, upselling us in an aggressive manner, or rushing us while we enjoyed the conversation of our company. Constant smiles and charm, whomever was responsible for bringing her on, should pat themselves on the back.

My partner and I visited Babblers on Thanksgiving while we were in Windham. We were lucky to get a table with booking so last minute but I'm so glad we did! The service was great, the staff friendly, and the food delicious. It is a bit brighter than most restaurants so doesn't feel quite as cosy but the atmosphere wasn't affected with the buzz and busyness of thanksgiving. We had the fig and walnut flatbread and tomato bisque to start, roasted Turkey breast and next level surf and turf for main, and apple crumble and pumpkin pie for dessert. Everything was excellent but the highlights for me were the steak which was cooked exactly to my liking and not the slightest bit chewy, and the pumpkin pie which was excellent (although I am Scottish and have never had pumpkin pie before this). We also shared the Fall Away and Irish Pumpkin cocktails which were also excellent! For my first Thanksgiving dinner it was definitely a win! If I lived in the area I'd definitely be back :)

My friends went here a month ago-it was awful. The chicken was as dry as others have commented-for months!! They were very disappointed and felt it was a complete waste of money. I have been there twice for drinks, once had the salmon, which was also rather dry and boring. I thought this was supposed to be a top notch place! Management has to send somebody here to sample the food. It is the worst on the mountain. Not kidding!

Their maple cinnamon latte was a hit with me. Drove 30 mins to have it again.

We had dinner twice the night before Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving day. Both times the service was superior and the food was excellent. Great menu choices. Be sure to try the fries you won’t be disappointed

Been here a few times because I want to love it, but it's missing the mark on a few things:- lighting - it's too bright during dinner. I like the lamps near the tables, but there are ceiling lamps attached to the beams that make this place feel cold and the food doesn't look as good under this tone of light. Easy fix - turn off the lights on the ceilings during dinner to create a warmer vibe- food just 'ok', and there isn't anything particularly special about the menu. Perhaps it would be good to have a couple of specials on the weekend when it's busy? - babblers bakery - I get the iced tea at least 2 times a week, but it always tastes different and sometimes it's cloudy. Opportunity to standardize recipe. Ill definitely be back because as I said above, I want to love. Hope you don't take offense to this feedback. Thanks!

We really liked our dinner at Babblers. Everything was perfect: service, food, and vibe. We had burgers , risotto, and a bottle of Cabernet. Everything tasted great! Fresh ingredients from a local farm. We will certainly come back again!

We (party of four) visited Babblers on a recent Sunday for brunch. We've been driving past this place for a bit and were curious to see what this new arrival was about. At brunch, the restaurant was fairly empty, save for a large party that took up the length of the restaurant. We took a while to decide on our meal, as the options seemed a bit spare and not as interesting as I'd hoped. Basically nine options, and I went with the chicken caesar while the others opted for eggs benny and the Wylder club. The chicken caesar was standard, not quite as "anchovy loaded" as it was described and the grilled chicken was seasoned well but quite dry. Honestly, a bit of a disappointment for $24. I had just eaten a very good cobb salad in Cooperstown for a two-thirds of the price the day before so it was hard not to compare. The server got my dining companion's order wrong, so I shared some of my caesar until the mistake was rectified. The others seemed to enjoy their meals, fwiw, so I'd definitely recommend those over the salad. The space is clean and rustic-modern, with Scandi-hygge touches. I can see a definite appeal to the city folks wanting a hipper place to brunch in the Windham area. The adjoining bakery has some very nice looking options, so I'd definitely plan to stop by for some baked goods in the future. I'll pass on the restaurant in the future, however.

$5.40 for a large drip coffee, are you out of your freaking mind?!!!! You put gold sprinkles on that? Jesus ChristI got priced out of Brooklyn, I think I'm getting priced out of Catskills now too.
