Brandywine was recommended by friends of our. We went to celebrate our anniversary. The food was excellent and the staff was super friendly. We had early reservations and beat any crowd. There was nothing to complain about. We will definitely be returning again!

My meal off the specials was truly special. My wives was not I was good but not very good and she thinks that there was garlic in it even though she requested garlic free. Staff were very nice but the restaurant itself was a bit old, needs more lighting.

We have been celebrating our wedding anniversaries every year at Brandywine. My wife and I made it a tradition. As a family we have celebrated birthdays, graduation and other family affairs at Brandywine. It was our “ go-to” restaurant. Over the years we have never been disappointed in either the quality of the food or the service. Today my wife and I decided to maintain the tradition of celebrating our 57th wedding anniversary at Brandywine. This time we were terribly disappointed in the quality of the food. The waitress service was consistently excellent. Dawn was our server and she continues to provide excellent service. The disappointment came in the quality of the food. Since a salad was a part of our meal, my wife and myself ordered a vinegarette
dressing. It was totally tasteless. We each agreed that we both felt it had no taste. As an entree, my wife ordered her favorite dish: Chicken Grismonde. She was totally looking forward to this most delicious entree we have ordered in the past. This meal was such disappointment and truly bland and tasteless. Something has happened in either the management or culinary staff that such a drastic change has occurred in the food quality. I ordered the Brandywine broiled seafood medley. This item was a disappointment in that it was also bland and tasteless . We mentioned our disappointment in the salad dressing to our waitress but we never discussed our disappointment in our entree. Based on this most recent dining experience, we will probably not be celebrating our family celebrations at Brandywine. Another family tradition has been canceled. I hope the Brandywine proprietors take this positive advice to look at the poor quality of the kitchen staff’s culinary ability. These comments are not intended to denigrate the Brandywine staff and its owners. They are meant to strictly advise them of our disappointment in the food quality. We hope they shake this advice and bring back the former food quality that some may have enjoyed in the past. Unfortunately we won’t be back to witness any improvements, if any.

My husband and I were jus there this past Saturday and it was FANTASTIC. If you appreciate authenticate Italian cooking this is the place to dine in the area. Staff were all very nice, we had a young man who was great and attentive as our waiter. The atmosphere is nice too with Italian music playing and candle light in the evening. It was priced just right as well. Not cheap for not unreasonable as the portions were more than adequate. Next time we are in the area we will definitely dine there again!

I recently revisited Brandywine, a place I used to frequent throughout my childhood. I was excited to return, but the visit fell short in several ways.

There were four of us plus a baby, and we were seated at a table far too small for our group. It was so cramped that the waitress had difficulty finding space for our two appetizers. On top of that, we were placed directly under a ceiling speaker that crackled and buzzed constantly—definitely not conducive to a comfortable dining experience.

One small silver lining was that we were served quickly. I remembered long waits as a kid, so I was glad to skip that part. Unfortunately, the service itself was lackluster. Our server seemed uninterested in engaging with us at all. It’s hard not to wonder if our visibly queer and trans identities influenced the cold reception, but whatever the reason, there were little to no pleasantries and minimal effort beyond the absolute basics.

The soda had an odd taste, and they were out of the creamy Italian dressing I used to love, which was really disappointing. The salads, when they arrived, were very small and served on cheap plastic plates, which didn’t help the overall impression. The portion sizes for the entrées were generous, but the quality left a lot to be desired. I ordered the carbonara, which was watery, bland, and unappetizing. The bacon was oddly pink and undercooked, adding to my discomfort.

Overall, the experience was disappointing. The food didn’t live up to my memories, the atmosphere was unpleasant, and the service felt cold at best. Sadly, this visit made it clear that Brandywine isn’t what it used to be—and I likely won’t be returning.

We went to dinner with a group of 6 people on a bachelorette trip. The food was slow, very mediocre, and overpriced. The chair that the bride (wearing white) sat in had chocolate cake on it. When we pointed out that the chair was unclean and soiled the bride’s dress, the waitress laughed and didn’t apologize or try to rectify the situation; she said “at least the dress is a rental!” (was from Nuuly). The service was unbelievably unprofessional.

I have been going to Brandywine for many years. I am disappointed with how much the quality has decreased. I ordered a hot antipasto. It came with 2 of many items. I could not tell the difference of any of the items. They did not explain what they were, and all were covered with sauce, and many were overcooked. The service was very slow. Overall, it is not worth going back.

Brandywine is one of Windham's few restaurants which takes reservations, which is a good thing, because during ski season you may be waiting 2 hours for a table at dinnertime. We had originally wanted to go to Millrace, but upon arrival at 5:30pm there was already a 2 hour wait & it was so incredibly loud, we'd have to shout at each other. Instead, we called Brandywine, asked for a table, drove over and were seated in the newer section of the restaurant, which was very cozy and quiet. Our waitress Dana was amazing - friendly, with a great sense of humor. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. The salads for 2 at $10 are a steal and can be a meal in itself I you wanted to. Each entree comes with the house sale or soup and the entrees are large enough that you can take leftovers home. Their wine & cocktail list is quite nice, and you can also order other cocktails not on the menu. The wait staff was very attentive and we had a wonderful dinner. Love coming here - Brandywine is a bit of a local secret here in Windham, as it's generally frequented by the locals. There's plenty of parking & you'll always have a great meal.

Saw waitress once, when she took order. Drank my water and husband's, asked for a refill, didn't get one. Salads brought to wrong table, then when they did arrive, wrong dressing on both. Stuffed shrimp overdone and dry. Waited for entrees, waited for check. Terrible terrible service. Table next to us had complaints

Reservations for 6:15. Seated 6:30, np Hostess took our drink orders, just husband and I. Waited then for a waitress. She appeared, we knew what we wanted. Ordered an appetizer plus our entrees. Waited awhile for the appetizer. I was drinking water. Done with appetizer, salads took time plus they had the wrong dressing on both. Waitress has not come back since we ordered.never came back to ask if we wanted another drink. Finished our salads and sat there for quite some time. Our empty drink glasses, our salad dishes sat and sat. Food finally arrived. I was so thirsty, drank my husband's water. My stuffed shrimp was overcooked and so dry. Husband from diovlo was so so. Finished eating, sat with our dishes. Another person, not our waitress came to take dishes. I asked for more water. Also asked for the check. Another wait, never got water. Had to ask busboy for ck again. Check came, waited for someone to pick up the check. We left at 8:45. The young couple that arrived at 730 next to us, asked if we were waiting tonight? They were not happy waiting for their waitress. Will not return.
