When are we are in that part of the city on the upper west Hell's kitchen side we love going to rice and beans! I remember when it was on eighth Avenue or ninth Avenue and you had to walk through the kitchen to go to the bathroom it was so small, but the food was amazing and thankfully it continues to be amazing. Cheese bread , cod fish fritters , chicken with okra stew and the Brazilian beef pork bacon stew. It was large portions and happy to bring leftovers for another dinner. Caiparini cocktails always so good. Can't wait to go back in Dec for the holidays!

Nice service (special thank you for the birthday cadle and song!!), Great tasting food (tasty, cooked with care and time - the great stew (Carioca Picadinho), with the delicious plaintains, the delicately garlicky rice and great beans wow! - in generous portions too!) A cozy place and - what is rare in NYC - a good sound level and comfortable sitting, allowing for discussion around the table! RECOMMENDED!
