This was my third and final time eating here and this time managed to win the award for worst dining experience in Woodstock. Sat inside with sun glaring into my eyes. They had some problem in the kitchen so we waited over an hour for food. No bread available to hold us over. Would have been nice to offer a free round while we waited even though the pricey cocktails were disappointing. In the end, the food was meh.

I’ve tried twice to have a drink here during advertised hours and they were closed. Giving them the benefit of the doubt with 5 stars but I’ve never actually figured out how to patronize this place. Beware, or be flexible I guess.

This is the first time I have ever walked out of a restaurant without getting my/our food, overall horrible experience. We placed our order only to have the waitress come back 1/2 hour later to say they were out of the menu item that some of the table ordered. After another 1/2 hour they brought some of the food out, which was not close to what we ordered (it was food for a different table!). Another hour goes by and someone from the staff comes out and says there are 6 tickets ahead of our orders. At that point we had had enough. One from the table had ordered the salad with shrimp, we had them box that up and left. They still charged us for our drinks and the salad?? When the salad was opened, there was no shrimp and just a bunch of spinach..... They did offer us a free meal upon return, but I don't live in the area and won't be going back any time soon. There are probably better options in Woodstock/Saugerties. Complete s******* show.

Awesome food. A little backed up in terms of service. But it is what is is

Stopped in for a bite last night. Shared a Saint Jacques Aux Crevettes and Falmmkuchen with shrimp. Both were delicious! Also had a Honey Bee and Hillbilly cocktail which were made to perfection! Glancing around to be noted the glasses of wine were a nice healthy pour.

The food is delicious. If you go, go for the food and be ready for anything. Such as them not having your reservation, being out of half of what you order (we ordered 4 food items and they were out of 2) and serving entrees before your appetizers. I wondered what was happening in the kitchen and felt bad for the staff. I'm not saying don't go here, just be advised. And be clear with the staff because one moved to take an appetizer plate before we were done and I made a joke about it that she didn't get, or she got it and took the plate anyway. I wondered if they didn't like us.

Visiting the area for the weekend decided to give this place a chance. Huge mistake. Walked in at 6:50p for our 7 resy, place close to empty on a Saturday night. Was seated directly in the sun. waiter didn't approach table for what felt like too long in an empty place. I asked them to lower shades since the sun was going right in the eyes. 10 min later is still wasn't done, so I asked another person and was told they actually do not have blinds on that side, sweet. The person who I asked was very sweet and actually used the menu place tables to build a shade. We ordered the prosciutto german style pizza was promptly told that they ran out of prosciutto and would be using bacon instead. Bacon is fine with me but there is literally a gourmet super market next door with tons of prosciutto. This is was an easy two second fix. We also ordered iced teas which didn't show up till after our food came. I had to ask twice about simple Iced teas, was told bar tender forgot. Lol the place was empty! We finally get our pizza and prawn. Pizza was burnt and honestly trader joe's does a better version of literally the same exact thing (french style) ham and gruyere flatbread. Prawns were pretty good but nothing spectacular. Next came the Indian madras dish which was super disappointing. Chicken had zero salt and tons of spice, jasmin rice was a joke that was dry as the phoenix desert. Lastly we had a plate of fries with garlic aoli which was just meh. No one from the wait staff came up to use after the food was served and inquired if everything was good, and if we needed anything. I get it super hard to get help post pandemic for restaurants but this is just a joke. But seriously "we are out of prosciutto" WALK 10 STEPS TO THE STORE NEXT DOOR, I SHOULD HAVE OFFERED THEM TO GO MYSELF. Was literally the funniest part of the whole meal I think. Don't waste your time or money at this place. Plenty of good selections in town. (shindig, garden cafe, oriole 9, Joshuas, tinker taco, bread alone, noodle place)

Bartender is amazing. He knows his thing. The food, not bad but not consistent. Price is right, and it is clean and friendly.

Took my bf here (at his request) for his birthday dinner. Neither of us had every been, but really enjoyed the food & waitress. We'd originally requested an outdoor table (due to COVID), but were seated indoors which was actually better b/c "outdoors" is just a picnic table in the parking lot they share with the neighboring grocery store. My boyfriend got the A&P Buttermilk Fried Chicken & I got the Manchester Madras, which they were kind enough to make vegetarian for me; both were delicious. I had a delicious cocktail named the Solstice, that our waitress had created, herself, & also an A&P Blackberry. The *only* snag we hit was we received two different drinks than what we'd ordered, for our second round; they corrected mine, but left my boyfriend w/ a beer different than what he'd ordered. No big deal. We'd definitely go back, when in the area.

I am hesitant to write this review since I don't like to hurt local business and I liked the wait staff there. My friend took me out to dinner Friday and we both ordered the salad nicoise for $24. We both assumed for the price it would come with fresh tuna steak but was canned tuna. It had a nice flavor but had way too much dressing to the point where I had a stomach ache all night. I ordered this dish thinking I am taking the healthy option on the menu and turned out to be different than what I thought. I just wanted to give a heads up to others. Also, the music was very loud and we had to move upstairs since they didn't want to lower it. More of a place to go for drinks and bar vibe than for a meal where you can enjoy a nice conversation (although once we were upstairs was quiter and we were able to enjoy our conversation).

Loved the modern vibe at A & P during our most recent weekend getaway to Woodstock. The interior design is very rustic chic and it's not too loud even on a Friday eve. The service was fantastic, and the dishes and drinks were superb. The smoke infused Sazerac wasn't just stunning to look at but also perfectly balanced and the hummus sampler is a superb example of a simple dish been taking to new heights.
