This was my first time at New Taste… a few friends recommended it, so I definitely had to give it a try. The food was absolutely delicious. So full of flavor! The griot, rice and beans, and plantains were all amazing. The staff were super nice and friendly, made the whole vibe feel welcoming. I will definitely be coming back!

If you’re thinking about trying out New Taste, don’t think about it, just go order. The food is fresh, flavorful, and incredibly authentic! You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu but here’s just a few of my faves! 1. Fish Stew 5/5 DO not share -tell them to get their own 2. Griot- Never overly greasy, nice chunks of pork seasoned perfectly 3. Rice and Beans - Always fluffy and fresh 4. Black Rice 5 stars - Never greasy; Always fresh 5. Stew Chicken- Solid Never Fails 6. Plantains- Whether green or yellow! So crispy; so good! 7. Pikliz- Chef’s kiss!
I’ve been eating at New Taste for years and the food has always been a step above. When I moved to Texas, one of the places I missed the most was my takeout from New Taste!

Pate kode is fresh and delicious especially the herring. I just wish that it came with a small side of Pikliz. Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of their Pate. The crust is too thick for the amount of filling that’s in it especially the chicken pate. Just a little less crust and less frying time since it was a tad overcooked.

I ordered via ubereats A large griot and a macaroni and cheese. I received FriTAY, 5 lbs of rice and beans, and a greasy oily lasagna. I only ate the 5 pieces of hard griot that came with the meal. What a ripoff! I will NOT BE ORDERING FROM THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN. SHAME ON YOU NEW TASTE!

Hands down best Haitian restaurant that you will find and Wyandanch. The white rice alone was amazing. The staff there are very kind and the owners themselves, were extremely welcoming. 10/10 experience. Will be returning soon!!!

The food had no taste i took two spoons for food and returned it it was cold no flavor and the rice was rock hard. The owner started screaming at me and pointing her finger in my face behind the glass talking about can u return food back to mcdonalds. Like im not returning it i want a refund . i said the food belongs in the garbage its trash and dont talk to me like a kid. I asked for my money back she said no. I said wheres the policy for no refund she has none. She started screaming even louder. I threw the food out in her face . Monday im disputing the charge. She needs to be out of buisness within 30 days. she cooks food for diabetics and people who have high blood pressure. No flavor no taste not even a scent of smell of food. This place will be shut down for poor behavior and selling dog food.
