The best Portuguese restaurant in Yonkers !
I have eaten here for 25 years and have NEVER had a bad meal.
When you go, the dining room is not the entrance on Orchard street. The Orchard Street entrance is for the bar and only had a few tables in the back. The bar crowd are all regulars and nice folks but the upstairs bar is better left to them .
The Myrtle Street entrance on the side of the building on the hill is the dining room entrance.
You walk in and are greeted by the large fish tank.
The room is wood panels and very cozy and comfortable.
The waiter Victor had been there forever and will make sure you have a terrific meal.
I recommend starting with a glass of Portuguese red wine or a glass of Vino Verde.
We like to start with an order of pork and clams which comes up in a very generous portion. Of course you have to make sure you use your delicious Portuguese rolls to soak up the delicious broth from the pork and clams.
Then move onto your entree.
There are daily specials, each one better than the next.
Steak on the stone is always a great bet but my favorite is chicken in garlic sauce.
Don't hesitate to try their fish dishes which are all fantastic. The entrees come with rice and fries which go great with all the entrees.
Save room for dessert and I recommend the creme brulee. Top it off with an espresso and you have a great meal.
The prices are beyond fair and I guarantee if you try it once you will be back.

We were in tonight for dinner. We had pork and clams for an appetizer and I had chicken in garlic sauce and my wife had chicken breast in garlic sauce..
The service from Victor is always fantastic and the food was amazing as always.
The SL Benfica game was on as well as a bonus. It was a perfect meal at an amazing price.

Had a delicious and delightful experience here. It was quiet, but apparently Father's Day (yesterday) was quite festive. Grilled chicken, very fine. Loved my grilled trout featuring mussels, clams, and shrimp, all in a classic Portugese red sauce. The soccer game was on and there were some locals watching and commenting. Very enjoyable.

I'm already anticipating my next meal here. The flavors are well balanced. The cost-to-quality ratio makes sense. The staff greeted us with natural warmth. No questioning needed.

This is meat, fish, rice and potatoes kind of place. The bar is full of working men, from various trades. Almost all the customers are native Portuguese. Food is fine and authentic; well priced, fresh and good portions. Owner, staff and the locals are all friendly. There is a downstairs dinning room, so if you are a family, on a date or don't want to rub elbows with the locals then the dinning room is for you. Steak on a stone, fish of the day, garlic shrimp, flaming Portuguese sausage, and drink the local house wine. If your waiter is Victor then you have met a rare bird; a professional waiter. He's been there for 25 years. Tell him 'Barry' sends his regards. Not fancy but good basic ethnic food and you don't have to take out a bank loan to eat there. The owner is also a great guy. They prefer cash but you can use a credit card if you have forgotten how to get or use cash. Enjoy!!!!!

Thoroughly surprised and impressed with this hidden gem in an industrial part of town! Superb food (esp. the main dishes) , nice price, and great service in a family dining room kind of environment. It looks like they have a daily menu of specials, as we were handed a special menu for the Sunday that we visited. I ordered the stuffed trout, which everyone else shared a mouthful or two, with exclamation marks in their feedback. The carnivores ordered baby goat stew, steak on a hot stone and chicken with mushrooms - they all looked very impressive, and were given top-notch reviews. I don't eat meat, but I trust my fellow diners' taste :-). Even though we were stuffed after consuming the generous portions of the main course, we didn't want to miss their unique desserts, with just enough stomach space to share two. The only pity was their side dishes (included with the main) - they looked and tasted too much like an afterthought. The mains are gourmet tasting, while the sides are bland and uninteresting. Well, this funny phenomenon didn't dampen our enjoyment. We will for sure come back for more!
