We absolutely loved the food here!! We were in the area for a wedding and decided to try it out. We heard so many good things about this restaurant. The service, atmosphere and especially the food were amazing. Large portions of well presented and tasting food! We will be back! Bravo!

Great family owned restaurants with amazing food and drinks. Service was a bit slow but was busy so won’t put it against them. Amazing and will come again

Had a delicious and delightful experience here. It was quiet, but apparently Father's Day (yesterday) was quite festive. Grilled chicken, very fine. Loved my grilled trout featuring mussels, clams, and shrimp, all in a classic Portugese red sauce. The soccer game was on and there were some locals watching and commenting. Very enjoyable.

I'm already anticipating my next meal here. The flavors are well balanced. The cost-to-quality ratio makes sense. The staff greeted us with natural warmth. No questioning needed.

This is meat, fish, rice and potatoes kind of place. The bar is full of working men, from various trades. Almost all the customers are native Portuguese. Food is fine and authentic; well priced, fresh and good portions. Owner, staff and the locals are all friendly. There is a downstairs dinning room, so if you are a family, on a date or don't want to rub elbows with the locals then the dinning room is for you. Steak on a stone, fish of the day, garlic shrimp, flaming Portuguese sausage, and drink the local house wine. If your waiter is Victor then you have met a rare bird; a professional waiter. He's been there for 25 years. Tell him 'Barry' sends his regards. Not fancy but good basic ethnic food and you don't have to take out a bank loan to eat there. The owner is also a great guy. They prefer cash but you can use a credit card if you have forgotten how to get or use cash. Enjoy!!!!!

Thoroughly surprised and impressed with this hidden gem in an industrial part of town! Superb food (esp. the main dishes) , nice price, and great service in a family dining room kind of environment. It looks like they have a daily menu of specials, as we were handed a special menu for the Sunday that we visited. I ordered the stuffed trout, which everyone else shared a mouthful or two, with exclamation marks in their feedback. The carnivores ordered baby goat stew, steak on a hot stone and chicken with mushrooms - they all looked very impressive, and were given top-notch reviews. I don't eat meat, but I trust my fellow diners' taste :-). Even though we were stuffed after consuming the generous portions of the main course, we didn't want to miss their unique desserts, with just enough stomach space to share two. The only pity was their side dishes (included with the main) - they looked and tasted too much like an afterthought. The mains are gourmet tasting, while the sides are bland and uninteresting. Well, this funny phenomenon didn't dampen our enjoyment. We will for sure come back for more!

We ordered paella, chicken, and ribs from Chaves for our office, and everything was absolutely excellent! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The paella was packed with delicious seafood and authentic flavors, and the chicken and ribs were juicy and tender. Everyone in our team loved it!
A special thanks to Mr. Días for his excellent service—he was very professional and attentive. We highly recommend Chaves for any event or gathering. Thank you for the amazing meal!
