Quality, quality, quality, old fashioned good banqueting and great service. Steak on a Rock is highly recommended! The bacalaou (sorry for misspelling), is another hit. Can't say enough good things about this place.
OK, there is no getting around that Lusitania, a beloved Yonkers restaurant, looks like a dive bar from the outside. Walk in from the Lockwood Ave entrance into the bar and you are certain that it's a dive bar! What it really is is a family restaurant with no pretense at all, just good food, and friendly staff. Kind of like a great diner's waitresses rather than waiters who put on airs. Huge portions to take home left overs for the next day. Fair prices and a relaxed...
Stain galore on dropped ceilings .. food was mediocre though generous servings if that's what is important to u ... The waiter wrote in a 20% tip !!! We were 2 people ... I told him I agree to 20% however he figured 20% on taxes as well!!! He cheapish smiled as if he knew both actions were wrong ... Then he brings back the bill to be signed providing a choice of additional tip to the 20% he wrote in ... another 15% 18% or 20% tip to be filled in by the distracted client...
