It was a long time since I was last here. For that period of time, I held onto a grudge for this place (based off my past experiences, it was a rightful grudge). I vowed to never return. It's been well over a decade since I was here last. More recently, I decided to try this diner again - and much to my surprise, things have been much, much better. Unsure if ownership/management changed or not, but I don't see the same people I used to see long ago - which is a good thing judging from the past and how they treated some. Full disclosure - I've been ordering take out and haven't dined in again as of yet, so this is not for that experience as of now. I have been ordering take out and everything has been as good as you can expect. The orders have been correct and the food has been good. They're fairly generous with the condiments and such. There is never much of a wait. Whether calling in or when I'm inside to pickup, everyone has been friendly, welcoming, and courteous - which always goes a long way. The outside neon sign is iconic. The parking lot can be busy depending on the time of day and there is plenty of parking. Turning left out of the parking lot can be a hassle at times, so use caution. There is metered street parking as well, though after 8pm and on Sundays you don't have to pay. I'm glad I gave this diner another chance after so long. It's become reliable for me. I'll be back of course and glad to have come back.

Great old fashion diner. Fantastic atmosphere inside. Huge desserts baked onsite. Fantastic friendly service. Very quick old style service from the kitchen all the orders came out quickly and hot. Only wish they were 24 hours like before the pandemic. Will definitely return for breakfast at 11 pm and dinner in the morning.

21 years ago this past June was the last time, I was here. I had a brisket sandwich 2go. Im glad to see the food & service is still good, but I spoke to a worker who was tired & I heard her possible supervisors say they were on their union break. Not, acceptable. Treat the front desk person as u would yourself.

The service sets these folks apart, one has to say it was world class. Also the cherry and cheese strudel was dynamite. I was having a rough day at work, came in for a coffee and the manager or owner, I didnt know, was so genteel it kind of reminded me I was a human being. Coffee was great. Service I received was commensurate with a high-end steakhouse or other fine dining establishment. It was nice to meet you. Thank y'all
Had breakfast with my friends and we stayed a long time but never felt rushed by them to leave

Food was Okay! Definitely didn't stand out. Raceway won't remain in my radar. The service from the server was good and friendly but the glass of water had lipstick on it from the previous glass user. No bueno. The Orange Marmalade for my toast was horrible. Smelled like chemicals. Not a cool way to end an already disappointing experience. Just remembered, they never brought out my oatmeal that I asked. For. An oatmeal in a cup. So yeah...not a good experience at all.
