You can't be in a hurry when you go to the last remaining Church's Chicken in northeast Ohio.
One of the main reasons I moved to Akron was because of Church's Chicken, but there used to be 3 of them in Akron and another in Cleveland.
Count on it taking about an hour, from when you get there, till you're walking out with your food. Others will be waiting too, and I met an interesting fellow, with a 1968 Cadillac, in perfect condition. Though it got a little sideways when I asked whether he played football or how in the world did he afford to pay for it. One of those situations where I was talking without really thinking first.
The questions ask about seating, there's no seating.
There's the option of ordering on the Internet, but I've never tried that at Church's.
For $40 you get enough food for 2 people for 2 days. Three giant size wings, 3 breasts, 3 thighs and 3 drumsticks = the 12 piece mixed dark and white meat. Which comes with a large Cole Slaw, a large mashed potatoes with gravy, and 4 biscuits. The best biscuits ever.
Plus the cats who live outside get the skins from the breasts when you make chicken salad the 2nd day. Or the skunk, if it's past midnight when you put it out on the back stoop.
The best value, without a doubt, for restaurant food, is Church's Chicken.

The chicken didn't taste like the original Church's chicken recipe the crust was fried too extremely to make it appear crunchy hard with no seasoning. I was totally disappointed because we drove from Cleveland to Akron for chicken.

If i was hungry yes I'd stop. But for me it's over priced. No flavor really. Had a nice crispiness to it. And It was hot. For the price if prob go somewhere else. But that's me. 🙂

Growing up down the street from this place as a kid the food was so good I live in Cleveland and we don’t have one here so every time I visit I always stop here on my way back and this time my food was so awful my chicken wasn’t fully cooked my okra tasted old like omg I’m so upset I guess I gotta let go of my childhood cause that was awful
I live on Cleveland's east side and we no longer have ANY Church's Chicken anywhere in the area. The closest is in Akron. We traveled 1 and a half hours to go. The food was superb!!!!! The white meat chicken was super tender, even a day later, the corn was delicious, even though I hate that they no longer have it on the cob. The dirty rice was dirtaeeeeee....and the pies were great!!! Hell......everything was goooooddddd!!! I can't wait to go back!
