“LaCole took on my New Year's Day luncheon with very limited notice from me. However, even with the short time to prepare, she knocked it out the park. She had a menu for me within hours, very professionally put together. On the day of, she came in plenty of time to setup...and The FOOD was beyond my expectations. My guest raved about evey dish. LaCole is top tier and I am grateful to have a Chef and Caterer like her to call on!”

“I will be honest, I haven’t eaten there yet but just had the greatest experience that restored my faith in humanity just a little bit. I was in the Akron area for training with TNVC and I assume my iPad was stolen. Today it pinged at someone’s house and then it pinged in the parking lot of the Basement a few hours after I locked it and left a message for the would be thief. I called and spoke with Stephanie, and after explaining what had happened she was king enough to walk to the parking lot while I pinged it. The thief had dumped my iPad in the dumpster, thankfully not too deep. I just wanted to say that Stephanie was amazing for being such a good person and helping someone with no expectation of receiving anything in return. Next time my family and I are in the Akron/waterloo area I will make sure I patronize The Basement if only to help repay a bit of the kindness shown! This is how a neighborhood restaurant does it!”

“I cannot recommend Porchlight enough! I have become a frequent flyer— no seriously— twice a dad visits. I love the convenience of their online ordering in the morning and their great cafe space for lunch. There is no wrong answer when it comes to their variety of flavors for your lattes. Truly a skillfully crafted coffee menu along with flavor-packed food options. My absolute favorite menu item is their harvest Cobb salad. I CAN’T GET ENOUGH! Dried cranberries, grilled chicken, feta (I think), walnuts, topped with the to-die-for maple vinaigrette on a bed of lettuce. Seriously, there is NO reason NOT to go to Porchlight. Cheers!”

The staff is always friendly, efficient, and genuinely pleasant, even during peak hours. They keep things moving quickly without sacrificing quality, which is rare to see. We moved here from TN 2 years ago, we had a favorite mexican restrictions that we not only went to often but it became a place for any celebration or gathering, it was like an extention of home. We tried every mexican restaurant around for that feeling and taste of home. The 1st time we walked in, it felt right. The salsa, chips and cheese dip was the next test that it passed, then we ordered food... fantastic! The margaritas were the next try and they passed with flying colors. The only thing they didn't have was these unique fried jalapenos that we loved from back home (but to be fair, no restraunt anywhere does then right). When I told our waiter how they are made, he put the request in to the cook and with a few little adjustments they had them mastered perfectly!!! I found our new mexican restraunt home!!!”

Amanda has been there for eight years and Anna is training She was a real trooper with our attempts to razzle her. Now for the food. Almost every month they have lobster fest featuring unique lobster dishes. This morning they had posted one of these dishes being fried lobster tail. I have never heard of lobster being fried and knew I had to have this. It was beyond my expectations, absolutely amazing! I expect a small tail but this was far from small. I can polish off lobster tails but in this case I needed a to go box! They also have the best white french dressing I’ve ever had and I’ve tried many. I ordered lobster bisque to go for Scott. Not only did he say it was the absolte est ever (huge compliment because everything is usually just alright to him which is interpreted as good) he was also taken back by how much lobster was in it. Very comfortable, nice restaurant with fantastic servers and outstanding food…which means the chef is a rock star! The building is deceiving from the outside but I assure you when you get inside you will be wowed!”

“I rented the interior living room space for my bridal shower and it was absolutely amazing! I looked around and got pricing from a ton of other venues, and Pure Intentions had the most reasonable price out of everyone else. The space was also very different than the run-of-the-mill banquet halls people usually rent for these types of events. There were couches, bar/barstool areas, multiple different tables, comfortable seating, a stage, a piano, and cool art hanging up all over the walls. The lighting was perfect as in not too bright, and we were able to adjust the lighting by turning off some of the lights and using the lamps they have set up there. For my shower, I provided painting supplies and canvases for my guests so we could do a "paint and sip" style party with champagne and snacks. We set up our own projector up on the stage and followed along to a YouTube video tutorial and painted the same picture all together following along with the video. When I told the staff at Pure Intentions about my paint and sip style party plan, they were not only entirely open to the idea, they were ECSTATIC to be able to host such a creative and fun event for us. One of the employees met me there an hour early and helped me hang up decorations, provided me with extra tables, and got me some ice and a cooler for my beverages to stay cold. She was just amazing and I am so grateful for her help. I will 100% be recommending Pure Intentions to anyone looking for a cool, chill, vibey space for their event. And if I ever plan on hosting another party like this I will definitely be renting here again. Thank you Pure Intentions!! you were amazing”

“We came in last Sunday. We had been here a few times and I must say this was one of the best. Our server was very nice and on top of things for us. Lena is think was her name. We could tell they were busy as it seemed there was only 2-3 servers on. Our food was not long on the wait. The manager changed a TV for us so my buddy could watch hockey. We always have had problems with other places never changing TV's for us. He asked us how our day had been and just seemed to really care about us being there. Dan was wonderful and made sure, it seemed that everyone was having a nice time. I will definitely be back soon. Wonderful Irish food.”

I was in the Akron area for training with TNVC and I assume my iPad was stolen. Today it pinged at someone’s house and then it pinged in the parking lot of the Basement a few hours after I locked it and left a message for the would be thief. I called and spoke with Stephanie, and after explaining what had happened she was king enough to walk to the parking lot while I pinged it. The thief had dumped my iPad in the dumpster, thankfully not too deep. I just wanted to say that Stephanie was amazing for being such a good person and helping someone with no expectation of receiving anything in return. Next time my family and I are in the Akron/waterloo area I will make sure I patronize The Basement if only to help repay a bit of the kindness shown! This is how a neighborhood restaurant does it!”

“Since moving to Ohio a year and a half ago, my family and I have made it a point to try different restaurants around the area. One place that caught our attention was the Spaghetti Warehouse in Akron, located right next to the University of Akron. I first discovered it through DoorDash while picking up orders in the area, and since we’re big fans of Italian food, I suggested we give it a try. We decided to go there as a way to celebrate two special milestones—our daughter moving into her dorm and our son starting 7th grade. The moment we walked in, we were struck by the restaurant’s unique, nostalgic decor. It has an old boardwalk theme, complete with vintage arcade machines like the claw game and a love tester, which both my kids and my wife enjoyed. It gave the place a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. We were greeted and seated by our server, Jackie, who was fantastic throughout our visit. She was friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Unfortunately, while looking over the menu, we noticed several items that were listed but not actually available, which was disappointing. For food, my wife chose to build her own spaghetti with the Pomodoro sauce—a blend of marinara and Alfredo—and she really enjoyed it. She also had the house salad with ranch, which she said was fresh and flavorful. My son built his own spaghetti with meat sauce and two meatballs, and he loved his meal as well. I decided on the 15-layer lasagna, which the menu described as “incredible.” Sadly, I didn’t feel the same—it looked a little burnt, tasted chewy, and reminded me more of a frozen lasagna than something freshly made. Overall, the food was hit-or-miss. My wife and son enjoyed their meals, while mine was underwhelming. The service, however, was excellent, and Jackie really made the experience more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a family-friendly spot with a fun atmosphere and decent spaghetti, Spaghetti Warehouse isn’t a bad choice. Just be prepared for a few menu inconsistencies and don’t expect every dish to live up to the hype.”

I doordashed three piece box with potato wedges, Honey Biscuits and jambalaya. The only negative thing I can say is that I didn't get the potato wedges. The chicken was hot and tasted fresh and juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside. I love the flavor of the Cajun spices. The jumbalaya was pretty good, a bit dry but I think that was because it cooled down. The biscuits are insane.”
