“I will be honest, I haven’t eaten there yet but just had the greatest experience that restored my faith in humanity just a little bit. I was in the Akron area for training with TNVC and I assume my iPad was stolen. Today it pinged at someone’s house and then it pinged in the parking lot of the Basement a few hours after I locked it and left a message for the would be thief. I called and spoke with Stephanie, and after explaining what had happened she was king enough to walk to the parking lot while I pinged it. The thief had dumped my iPad in the dumpster, thankfully not too deep. I just wanted to say that Stephanie was amazing for being such a good person and helping someone with no expectation of receiving anything in return. Next time my family and I are in the Akron/waterloo area I will make sure I patronize The Basement if only to help repay a bit of the kindness shown! This is how a neighborhood restaurant does it!”

“I visited for the first time and I just have to say how good this place is! There were about 20 of us. We never had an issue getting a drink, or anything else we wanted. Cocktails were good and strong, the sushi was tasty, and the entrees were flavorful. There was no skimping on the portions either. I got 3 dinners out of mine. We will be back!”

“I cannot recommend Porchlight enough! I have become a frequent flyer— no seriously— twice a dad visits. I love the convenience of their online ordering in the morning and their great cafe space for lunch. There is no wrong answer when it comes to their variety of flavors for your lattes. Truly a skillfully crafted coffee menu along with flavor-packed food options. My absolute favorite menu item is their harvest Cobb salad. I CAN’T GET ENOUGH! Dried cranberries, grilled chicken, feta (I think), walnuts, topped with the to-die-for maple vinaigrette on a bed of lettuce. Seriously, there is NO reason NOT to go to Porchlight. Cheers!”

It was our first experience at The Blue Door, and now we can’t wait to go back for their amazing brunch menu!
