“I was in the area because I had to take my pet to the local animal hospital. I decided to stop here for food and coffee because they were the closest.

I walked in and the environment was welcoming and the staff were very friendly. I ordered a breakfast sandwhich on a croissant, a key lime bar and a cinnamon roll iced latte.

The breakfast sandwhich was delicious and the croissant it was on was baked beautifully. My cinnamon roll iced latte was perfect, not too sweet and a good quality coffee flavor. I haven’t tried my key lime bar yet but I’m sure that’s going to be delicious like everything else.

If I’m ever in the area again this would be my first pick for coffee/breakfast.

They had a wide variety of baked goods as well, it was hard to only pick one to leave with!”

“Typical chain restaurant. Louie was a nice server. He was so busy, too many tables for him to even breathe or chat with his customers. ☹ Prices seemed high. Steaks were good but seemed salty. Salads are always good, but difficult to eat in small bowls because lettuce is so large and not in bite size pieces. Overall, a good experience.”

“I cannot recommend Porchlight enough! I have become a frequent flyer— no seriously— twice a dad visits. I love the convenience of their online ordering in the morning and their great cafe space for lunch. There is no wrong answer when it comes to their variety of flavors for your lattes. Truly a skillfully crafted coffee menu along with flavor-packed food options. My absolute favorite menu item is their harvest Cobb salad. I CAN’T GET ENOUGH! Dried cranberries, grilled chicken, feta (I think), walnuts, topped with the to-die-for maple vinaigrette on a bed of lettuce. Seriously, there is NO reason NOT to go to Porchlight. Cheers!”

“I visited for the first time and I just have to say how good this place is! There were about 20 of us. We never had an issue getting a drink, or anything else we wanted. Cocktails were good and strong, the sushi was tasty, and the entrees were flavorful. There was no skimping on the portions either. I got 3 dinners out of mine. We will be back!”

“I will be honest, I haven’t eaten there yet but just had the greatest experience that restored my faith in humanity just a little bit. I was in the Akron area for training with TNVC and I assume my iPad was stolen. Today it pinged at someone’s house and then it pinged in the parking lot of the Basement a few hours after I locked it and left a message for the would be thief. I called and spoke with Stephanie, and after explaining what had happened she was king enough to walk to the parking lot while I pinged it. The thief had dumped my iPad in the dumpster, thankfully not too deep. I just wanted to say that Stephanie was amazing for being such a good person and helping someone with no expectation of receiving anything in return. Next time my family and I are in the Akron/waterloo area I will make sure I patronize The Basement if only to help repay a bit of the kindness shown! This is how a neighborhood restaurant does it!”

“Chef Gina’s cakes are AMAZING!! this was the second cake within a months time that I ordered from her because the first one was incredible too! Both cakes were chocolate with salted caramel buttercream and they were so moist and delicious! the salted caramel was a special request and she did it so well. Everyone that had a piece loved it!! Not to mention the beautiful designs!!! Would recommend her for any special occasion especially because both cakes were reasonably priced! Thank you again Chef Gina! You are seriously the best and now my official baker for the foreseeable future!!! 😁”

“Celebrated a birthday there with seven people. The food was prepared perfectly. The table side preparation of the Caesar salad added elegance. Our server was the most attentive and gracious that I have ever had anywhere. I can’t say enough about the wonderful staff there. Thank you for an evening to remember.”
