“My son took me here for my 65th birthday. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food and beverages were yummy. After finishing our meals and sitting there conversing with each other, our waitress brought us 2 complimentary glasses of champagne. I had a great birthday and would definitely return.“
“I have wanted to stop and eat here for at least 25 years and never did until today. It looks exactly how I imagined it looked 35 years ago, which is perfect. Classic diner with great wait staff and quick wait times. Came for lunch on a Friday and got right in around noon. Had the bacon cheeseburger and it was easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. My friends fish sandwich was good too. Will be back again!“
“My wife and I have been to a lot of steak places, but Lanning's Steakhouse has become one of our go-to spots lately. Here’s why we think it’s special:First off, the steaks here are always spot on. They’ve got this sauce that goes with the filet, and honestly, it’s just the right touch. We used to live on the east coast where oysters were a big deal, and we’re picky about them. The Blue Point oysters at Lanning's? Top-notch. They’re one of the few places we trust to get oysters fresh. They do a Caesar salad that’s a bit different from what you might expect, but in a good way. And those homemade croutons they throw in are amazing. I get the salad just to have those. Everything we’ve tried here has been great, no exceptions. What makes a big difference for us, though, is the service. The people here know how to take care of you. They get what fine dining is supposed to be like. Plus, they’ve recently remodeled the bar lounge area, and we really enjoy dining on that side of the fence now. It feels just right. The owners are around a lot, too. They make it a point to say hi, thank you, and make you feel like you’re more than just another customer. It’s nice to see that kind of attention in a place. With all the fancy restaurant choices around, Lanning's has quickly become one of our favorites. Great food, great service, and a place where they make you feel like family. That’s hard to beat.“
“Great little bustling brew pub. Loved how you could choose to Wait for dining or any available at the bar (bartender was super friendly, so he made the evening fun!). Food was great! Turkey Reuben was one of the best I've had, and the Korean fried chicken in 4 alarm Mac& cheese was delicious! Paired off with a great collection of their home brews, you'll be in for a night to remember!“
“I had breakfast here for the first time today, it was amazing and I regret not going sooner! The staff was attentive, very quick, and very kind. There was a table behind me giving the waitress a hard time, but the waitress did everything right and was an angel to them. I will definitely be back!“
“I've been telling my family that this is my favorite restaurant for the last two years. I finally got to take my dad here. He tried the veal scallopini and loved it. He said wow with every bite. I love trying their specials every month. There is a reason why this place is always packed and why I keep returning. It's amazing.“
“My husband and I were not disappointed with drinks, food, and Deborah was great. We didn't have a long wait on our food. He had seafood gumbo, lots of shrimp, I had salmon w/potatoes and green beans, key lime pie and cornbread creme brulee, all “
“We never had issue before. We love the service and food here. But not this day. This time we waited in line and they called us. We ordered the meal and waited over a half hour for the order. The waitress finally came over and appologized and took orange juice off bill. She then brought the food but didnt get the pancakes that went with the order. We finished the food and still no pancakes and i requested the bill. The waitress we had finally came over to give us the bill, she had placed the pancakes in to go bag and took them off the bill as well.“
“First time here. Completely and utterly impressed. I'd heard rumors of how good the food was. It beat expectations. The bartenders and clientele also were amazing. Didn't meet a single person who wasn't completely respectful and friendly.First time won't be the last time. I'll be back and recommend this place to all my friends.“
“We are from Cincinnati and we visit every time we are near Cleveland and Akron. The fast seating and service does NOT take away from the quality of the food. I swear my server never lets my coffee cup get empty. They’re very attentive and close by. We initially came here because this is a restaurant LeBron James ate at almost daily as a kid. It’s worth a stop.“
“First time dining and we will be back. Alyssa (spelling?) our server was super friendly and thorough. Everything was cooked perfect to order (yes my mother ordered burnt toast) and was delicious. The country fried steak was a hit and coffee was really great. Reasonably priced and family feel restaurant.“
“My husband and I eat from here quite often he gets the grilled chicken salad and I get the club burger add mushrooms and mine is by far the best burger in the area it's triple the usual size and has all the fixings so it's gigantic and I use a fork and knife fries are good as well but eat them fresh when they're cold -they seem greasy . My husband's salad is also a monster that takes him 2 meals to finish completely I don't care for the way it's made and portions of chicken to lettuce but he gives it a solid 8 of 10 only food item I say for everyone to avoid is the country gravy it's a disappointment looks purple and clearly a generic can ed substance it ruined the whole plate it was on for me I refuse to order breakfast simply because of it I don't know why fresh made isn't available .. we take it home so I don't know on atmosphere -the 2 employees I've dealt with are ok and polite most of the time it seems they're overworked and exhausted 90% of the time so it's a toss up for me I'll update in future.“
“One of the greatest establishments in Akron history and even endorsed by local native LeBron James. I grew up coming here with my Dad and my older brother.I love getting the classic Galley Boy with fried mushrooms. And you can’t go wrong with a peanut butter milkshake.“
“Over crowded. Line of 10 people to pay. No service this time was good service last time. Food was so good the first time I came back a second but this time I just got ok food that was premium priced. Potatoes were still raw for my seasoned potatoes. They crunched as I bit in. Sad that breakfast for one person was over 20 dollars and I only had coffee and French toast. Probably not coming back.“
“Went to Wise Guys this evening with a group of seven. We didn't have a reservation, but from the moment we walked in they couldn't be nicer. Jodie and Jo were the best. They rembered our names and were fantastic. The atmosphere, food and service were the best we experienced. All our orders were very tasty. Cudos to the kitchen and bar staff.“
“When walking in we saw the stage the nostalgic memorabilia & Tenacious D on Tv.We now call this place the ramen shop of destiny! Big love to the owners the art and the food! Would love to catch a show in the future!Parking: gorgeous mural!!!“
“Owner very rude. Asked if he could move us to another table, however he did not have a table available. He had a group come in and wanted to seat them where we were. Our one member had just got there and had to leave without eating. Will go to Honeymoon with our group from now on.“
“We love going to Alexander Pierce for dinner, my wife and I usually go about four times a year and it never fails. Brittany was a terrific server and the food was spot on great. I will continue to go forever. We will be revisiting this weekend with my mom and dad, so double treat for us“
“Cozy and popular breakfast and brunch spot. Absolutely love that they offer gluten free toast here. I usually get a breakfast sandwich and it hits the spot every time, but it is a bit on the pricey side when adding bacon and gf toast.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options avaliable.“
“So I’m a foodie to my soul and trust me when I say the food here is the BOMB!! It truly is delicious. I had to look her up because I was served a complimentary breakfast from a place I rented and I’m willing to pay for that breakfast. She put her foot in it!“
“Some of the best country fried steak I've ever had. It's served with brown gravy, hashbrowns, two eggs and a side of toast. The food comes out piping hot. The service is exceptionally good and fast. Wonderful atmosphere and the food is a 10/10 regarding portion sizes and flavor.“
“Wow! What a happily surprising first experience! The all you can eat Friday fish special tasted AMAZING! I had a piece of each type available and all were so good! My favorite was the beer battered fish that had such a great flavor with that beer flavor coming out perfectly! And the service was perfect! So welcoming, attentive, and kind. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I'll be back without a doubt!“
“Definitely need to try this place out! Ordered carryout for dinner and it didn't disappoint. We had a classic burger with potato wedges & smothered chopped steak. Both were delicious honestly. The steak came with potatoes, another side & a veggie which was green beans. Everything was flavorful, and the beans tasted like my grandma cooked them all day...they were so good. The meat was tender, and the peppers and onions in the gravy was tasty as well. Their burgers are REALLY good, don't skip over those either. The menu is decent size with different options for sandwiches, wraps and dinners. I've had their fries and onion rings, sooo good. Prices can't be beat for home cooking! The inside is like a classic 50's vibe, small and cozy. Staff is pleasant and treats you like family. Oh, and they have shakes & desserts...a sweet plus. Give them a try!!“
“The waffle was sweet/flaky and the bacon was cooked just right. Julian's has a country vibe to it and feels cozy because of that. The staff is attentive and friendly. It's a cute little place. There is a good amount of 2-hour street parking out front.“
“We took a day trip to Akron for a festival and stopped into this bar while exploring the town. This bar was huge, clean, and beautiful! Our bartender was so sweet and answered all our questions! You can't beat their happy hour prices as well! I got the house cab and it was phenomenal! If I lived in the area, I would come all the time!“
“We had such a good time visiting this place before a concert at the Goodyear Theater. We could tell everything was made in-house with love, and were quite pleased with our decision to eat there. One friend commented that it just felt clean – not tainted with extra ingredients. Even the pre-dinner bread was clearly made in house. Super fresh and not a perfect shape. Don’t EVEN get me started about the strudel and a new-to-me dessert, Krem Pita. It was AMAZING.Yes. Go here. It's freaking REAL.(The break pealed away in strips)“
“I tell you this I set a Really Low Bar as far as this place was concerned figured it was gonna just be some hood stuff by some of the names on the menu. WRONG !!!! this food was amazing from the taste as well as the Aesthetics I'm not the one to be taking pictures of my food but they almost changed my mind... Word to the wise Those strawberry wings MAN OHHHH MAN!!! yea ill be on door dash again tonight“
“Sat quickly in a busy setting, server was fantastic, gave optimal time for the menu, drinks as soon as we sat.Appetizer was great, the salad with the dinner was meh, but I'm not a salad person anyway. Dinner was absolutely great. Everything came out quick for a Friday night. Well put together, great texture and taste. A repeat visit forsure.“
“Great food..great service..a little more expensive, but I have never had a bad meal at the Ido!Parking: They have a parking lot, and you can park behind the building across Ido..street parking also available. Many times it is hard to find a spot!!“
“Nothing but good vibes! Plus Speed Dating events are held there monthly!Parking: The safest place to park is directly across the street .. plenty of free parking in the Chipotle /Highland Public Library parking lot. There is free street parking but not as many convenient options.“
“Typical sports bar with decent food and great service! We had mac n cheese wedges, soft pretzel sticks, fried pickle chips, boneless wings, haddock sandwich and a burger. Everything was hot, cooked to order and tasty! This was our 2nd time there and we'll be back for many more!“
“Went for the first time recently and you’d have a hard time convincing me there’s a better steak in the area! All the food options and the service were phenomenal, drinks were a smaller side for the price but still a 5-star place hands down!“
“It was a first for me as a invite and I found out upon arrival you have to make reservations , however they happily found us a table but we decided to do take out and just waited for the food at the table. The food was still? hot fresh,& delicious ? by time o reached home! Def will come back with reservations, cause they're window seats look ? to be cozy.“
“It’s been a while since we were here but I knew my granddaughter would enjoy the “big apple” pie, we were not disappointed! April did a great job putting lots of whip cream on her hot cocoa, the mozzarella sticks were amazing. Place is clean, updated.“
“This place is worth the drive . Exceptional food, not like any other restaurant I've ever had. I got the shrimp po boy with fries, my partner had the hot dog combo- he said it was excellent. No indoor seating right now. The owner came out to talk with us, she is so sweet and genuine; just doing her thing out here with some great great recipes. It's people like this that make you feel good about America again and think there's hope for our children's future. If you haven't been here yet, give it a try, you're gonna love it! Guy Fieri should be here doing a feature!“
“This is the second time I've been here, though the first time was a handful of years ago. We stopped by after the eclipse for a beautiful sunny dinner on their patio. It's a nice setting in the city. We both enjoyed our food so much. I had the blackened chicken mac and cheese and fried green tomatoes. So much flavor! Tje cocktail was a special, the banana eclipse which was really good. Our service was wonderful. Definitely plan on going back as everything on the menu sounded great!“
“It might be a conflict of interest for me to even rate this place because I was there in the beginning when the place opened its doors. It regardless I have to say that I enjoyed the food enough that I came an hour early each day that I worked so I could get a chance to order their food to eat before my shift started on those days. If you get a chance, try their steak named the "Eli". It's a huge Strip steak that's worth the price! The last time I was in there they still had half price appetizers on Saturday. If they still have them I recommend the stuffed banana peppers because they're delicious.Parking: Since it is not possible to add more parking to the existing parking lot the owner has permission to allow for people to park in a parking lot across Market Street instead.“
“I like the place more and more with each visit. The distillery spirits are good and for sale at Silver Spirits. I dislike the gin but I like juniper gin. This struck me as more like Hendrix so if you like the florals you will love this gin. Like the Bourbon. Their Bourbon Manhattans are pricy, but worth it. And the bill encourages people to drink appropriate amounts. We have a deaf guy we go out with (cochlear implant) and they are most accommodating to get us into a space where we can talk.Never have had a bad experience with the staff. They are bright, courteous, and hard working. Tip themI've been going through a hamburger phase and I love them. I recommend medium. They hold together well and are pinkish inside. I haven't had other menu items in ages but those items were also good.Vegetarian options: They are flexible. Just ask.Dietary restrictions: They are flexible. Just ask.Parking: Adjacent lots make lots of parking available at dinner.Wheelchair accessibility: ADA, baby“
“I just finished making a dish that I love that I used to get at Lukitys. Cabbage , ham & noodles. Such great memories of this family owned business. They were such a blessing to my parents who were regulars there. Don’t know what my mom would have done without them after my dad( known as Grumpy) to the Lukity family, would have done without them. Highly recommend them!“
“Wally Waffle was my first chicken fried steak in Ohio! And she was a BEAUTY! Delicious breakfast, clean restraunt, friendly quick service, and plenty of parking my favorites! I somehow did not take a picture but take my word and order it next time!Signed- a PNW CFS snob ?“
“Virtues is located just in the Summa Hospital in Akron. The restaurant is clean and inviting, with comfortable seating of various types. Our server was pleasant and efficient. Make sure to check their "daily specials, which are often worth the trip".I had the Pear Gorgonzola Pizza...it was very delicious...crispy, thin crust topped with plenty of pears and cheese, and drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Lovely gourmet pizza; I would order again. My husband had the fish filet sandwich...he says the fish was tasty, but it came on a hamburger roll with American cheese, and it was more bread than it was fish@ $8.95 with no sides...not even chips. He would not order again.“
“Kid-friendliness: It's better not to let the little one get there own plates some of the customers don't like it because there little hands are all over everything its just better to do it for them and it's so busy so not let them run aroundWheelchair accessibility: There is plenty room for wheelchair and at tables too“
“Ok. This place is a good hang out spot. Good food. Pool tables could use a tune up,but they work. Lots of space for large gatherings. Outdoor seating is covered. Very friendly staff. If I lived in this part of town I would be a regular. Good job to all involved“
“My experience as Jerzee’s Sports Pub was absolutely amazing. After a delicious meal and yummy drinks, we were given the check. We were pleasantly shocked by the total. This restaurant gave us the most bang for our buck on our entire trip. The service from Lyndsey was phenomenal! I got the Stir Fry bowl with steak and it was delicious. If I wasn’t just traveling in the area this place would be my go-to. If you’re looking for a wonderful meal, I suggest Jerzee’s Sports Pub! :)“
“Great place for a quick bite. The food is good and the staff is kind and efficient. The options on tap forbeer/ciders are a bit limited but they do have a decent selection of bottled brews. It can get crowded in the evenings So plan ahead. I like being at the bar but there are side tables and a patio If that's your thing.Parking: There's parking in the front and on the side of the buildingKid-friendliness: This isn't exactly the greatest place to bring children but it's doable. The tables are small and everything is a bit close together, making it difficult to navigate having children that move around a bit. Additionally, I do not believe I saw any high chairs or anything like that. If you do bring children, I would suggest coming during the warmer months and taking a patio table that will give you a bit more room“
“I would like to adopt Joseph as my new grandpa! Aleena as my new granddaughter! This place was super cute. very cozy. the service 17 stars. My friend and I had the filet mignon and home fries. Knocked me into the 7th dimension. Fr fr though would recommend!“
