“rockne’s has been my favorite restaurant since i was a kid. they closed all the closest ones to me so now we drive 40 minutes just to go to this one because it’s amazing every time!!! the service is amazing and the food always comes out quickly. the food is delicious every time, and they give huge portion of fries. the prices are also incredibly fair for how much food you get. i’ll always come back to rockne’s and i wish there were still more of them closer to us!!“

“It's a nice establishment, but like most Burntwood Taverns, I find it to be a little on the pricier side. The food is pretty good, even with the pricing, but I usually steer clear due to the cost. Service was fabulous, and we even had a larger party. Unbeknownst to us, we also went out on the same night as a local high school dance, but they were able to accommodate a handful of larger parties simultaneously without any issues.“

“Just passing through and the smoke stopped me in my tracks. I'm a BBQ fanatic, and this place is in my top three. Collard greens made with an excellent vinegar, savory corn pudding and "don't need no sauce" pulled pork. I will venture off of Route 75 every time I pass through Dayton from now on.“

“LaCole took on my New Year's Day luncheon with very limited notice from me. However, even with the short time to prepare, she knocked it out the park. She had a menu for me within hours, very professionally put together. On the day of, she came in plenty of time to setup...and The FOOD was beyond my expectations. My guest raved about evey dish. LaCole is top tier and I am grateful to have a Chef and Caterer like her to call on!“

“Celebrated a birthday there with seven people. The food was prepared perfectly. The table side preparation of the Caesar salad added elegance. Our server was the most attentive and gracious that I have ever had anywhere. I can’t say enough about the wonderful staff there. Thank you for an evening to remember.“

“Stopped at Papa Joe's for a late lunch while on a bus trip from the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. There were 46 of us and the chicken parmesan was do moist and tender. we are were served in a timely manner. It was hot and delicious plenty for everyone to have a full belly. It is well worth the stop. No wonder Diane puts it on her itinerary when her trips are nearby. The staff were all very attentive to all our needs.“

“The wife and I made a day trip to Akron to pick up something and thought we’d stop in for breakfast. Very friendly staff. Seated promptly and the waitress reviewed the specials and let us look at the menu for a minute. The owner came out and talked about some of the specials and brought us a sample treat. We ordered a couple of the eggs Benedict daily specials (one was the classic and the other was corned beef). We upgraded the hash browns to Mystic potatoes (cheesy hash browns). Everything was delicious! The cheesy hash browns were phenomenal and the Benedicts were both very good. My wife also got some pancakes which were cooked perfectly! There was enough food to bring some home for tomorrow! Highly recommend!“

“I took six people there tonight who had never been there. And everyone got something different. The service was outstanding and every single dish was exquisite and cooked perfectly. The only thing was that toward the end of the evening, there was a very strong smell of sewage that everyone at our table could smell. And that kind of affected the experience, but our waitress was the bomb.“

“Anything I've ever tried off the menu here has been delicious. They have specials for each day and I recommend trying the special of the day. Also they make great drinks ! I recommend the Jamaican Mule, I get it every time, it's delicious. Food wise you can't go wrong. The owner throws down in the kitchen, especially with the seafood and burgers. Talk about good seasoning, everything's seasoned delightfully. My favorites so far are the Shrimp Quesadillas (Tuesday is quesadilla day) , their Summit Lake fries and every Friday is fish Friday with a great deal on yellow tailed perch fried to perfection. This place is tastier than any sit down restaurant in the area trust me. 10/10“

Sadly, however, the last few times I’ve been in, I’ve sampled several of their gluten free baked goods which were all subpar. Today I told myself that the red velvet cupcake would determine whether I ever tried another of their gf baked goods. I used to love this place in the Wellness Center, when the cafe was 100% gluten free, and the red velvet cupcakes, scones and muffins were exceptional. Thought I’d spare a gluten free soul by sharing my experiences.“

“Wow! A hidden gem! First, very clean, friendly wait staff, interesting decor. Second, breakfast served all day. Third, the menu items were simple, nothing fancy here, but really good food! Prices? I’d say slightly lower than average. I paid $10 for Cornbeef hash, and that came with 3 eggs, and potatoes plus two slices of toast! Plus the CBH was not greasy! Try this place!“

The nearby Green Parking deck was clean and well lit...the elevator exits onto the next street where there is a stairway between buildings that is opposite Burntwood's main entrance.“

“My husband and I got a night out on our own and ended up here. We started with the pickle fries and drinks. He had a peanut butter old fashion, and I went with the Dark & Stormy. I'm a fan of Gosling's Black Seal and was pleasantly surprised to see it on the menu. For our entrees, he got the Reuben and I had the Shroomin' Burger. We love seeing that they use The Farmer's Rail for their burgers - delicious, locally-raised meats. For dessert, I saw the creme brulee on the menu. it turned out to be a mango creme brulee! Such a delicate mango flavor, creamy, not overly sweet. Great service, great food... We'll definitely be back for nights out!“
