First the good: Ambiance was great. Piano in the background was nice. Quiet and tables far enough apart to talk but not be heard by others. Server(s) were very good. Attentive quick to refill glasses but not intrusive. Bread and salads were good. Next the bad: The red sauce is bland and the eggplant Parmesan was horrible. Breading seemed like bread crumbs you could buy off the shelf at Aldi's and the eggplant was thin. Crispy (close to burnt) on the outside and mushy on the inside. The decor is dated like old school Italian place but not too off-putting. We will not be going back. Bland red sauce and terrible breading (which is probably used on any other dishes with breading) is so bad a return trip is not going to happen.

The F. A. T. S. Backroom is a quaint and quiet place hidden behind (really on the side of the Todaros Party Center)
We have eaten here several times. The owner is friendly and can pick a bottle of wine out from his excess supply of off menu bottles.
The service was a little lagging at the beginning. We sat for 15 minutes before being helped by the server. From there the experience was very good. Except for the young man who was walking by as I was privately stating that bread was super hard. He offered us new bread saying he knew it was not fresh.
The food is SOOOO good and plentiful. I had a the fettuccine alglio a olio with chicken. The chicken was butterflied and pan seared. Unfortunately, it was super tough. Half of it was edible but several times I could barely chew it and several others that I couldn't even cut through with my knife. It was on my side plate, but I didn't mention it to the staff.
My husband got the Shrimp and pappardelle in spicy vodka sauce. The sauce was more of a red sauce and not very spicy. We ordered it without the pepper flakes. The shrimp were very well done.
The salads were great with fresh homemade Italian and vinegarette dressings.
Our second batch of bread was so much better! The first batch was so hard it felt like croutons.

Last night Frank Todaro served an awesome meal to twenty hungry men. The service was spot on. The atmosphere is very nice and above most restaurants. First visit for our group. Looks on the outside are deceiving. The dinning room was beautiful. The staff was excellent. Mrs. T.'s meatballs are everything they say they are. We will definitely go back.

You have to experience it yourself to understand what I mean. The moment we walked in, the atmosphere and vibe just felt off. There were only three people in the place the whole night, yet it took almost 10 minutes for the waiter to bring us the drink menu and another 10 minutes to take our order. The wait staff all just seemed off. We were even charged for items we asked for but never received. The food was okay, but honestly, we could have made it better at home. Definitely not worth what our bill was.
