Hibachi Xpress Tallmadge

Best hibachi place in the area hands down. This place is literally night and day from the previous owners to the new owners that took over earlier this year and it’s all due to Sven and his family. Come here and get great food and even better service. My guy Sven (the young blonde dude that works the register) is truly one of the nicest and best people you’ll ever meet and like I always tell him this world needs more people like him. Truly such a good down to earth dude with a great head on his shoulders that knows how to treat people with respect. Bro goes above and beyond to make sure his customers are happy and takes great pride in making people happy and doing things the right way. My guy has such a great work ethic and is such a hard worker and I’m telling you this place got saved when his family moved here and bought this location. I NEVER leave reviews for anywhere but unfortunately this place got a bad rep from the previous owners that I feel like it’s scared people away so I wanted people to know this place has truly changed and it’s just insane to see what it’s like now compared to what it was with the previous owners. It’s not just a coincidence. It’s having people like Sven and his family that truly care and take pride in their business and wanna do what’s best for the customer and make sure they are happy by providing quality food and even better service. Even told me today “it makes me happy knowing I made you happy”. Like come on bro if that doesn’t show what type of person he is and how he was raised then I really don’t know what does. Truly can’t thank Sven enough for everything he does for me and for just being the good dude he is. His parents should be proud and it makes me happy seeing the type of people that took over this location and all the great things they are doing with it. Thank you for everything Sven and thank you guys for saving this location and the wonderful service you provide

I’m sitting here now at 9:23pm I order two entrees chicken and shrimp! I did not receive that I got a chicken and shrimp combo. So when I decide to order my second meal. I don’t get the two men in the back walked away and left the young man up front to run the phone and cook the food so I shouldn’t have to wait 20 mins!!!!!! when I’m the only one here and they have no orders.

This is a takeout place. I did not see any seating. Ive gotten food here twice. The first time I got steak with rice and noodles. The steak was kinda dry and it was chewy. Flavor was good. Noodles were not good at all. Very flavorless. I ordered in the last hour of them being open and picked up 30 mins before they closed. Poorly put in a bag and it’s like they dumped soy sauce all over the inside of the bag. So messy. And rude. They don’t care about how they give it to you. The second time I ordered I only got the chicken and rice entree. The veggies and rice and chicken were great. Chicken slightly dry but not as much as steak and good flavor. Packaged less poorly this time. Still some liquid mess in the bag. They should get containers that actually seal.

No menu to take with you to order at a later time

I don’t normally write reviews but I used to love this place, ordered today and they they forgot both my sauces and when I opened this up, I’m not sure this is even steak, it feels and looks like a tough pork chop. It was supposed to be medium steak, which it used to be maybe 6 months ago. Just horrible! Never coming back again! Save your money, $40 for 2 meals and it’s awful!

I ordered the veggie hibachi with noodles and everything was so so soft I couldn’t eat it because the texture was so wrong.

I love their Teriyaki noodles, they’re on the sweeter side but pack so much flavor. The portions are generous, the price is very affordable, and they cook it right in front of you so you can see everything that’s going on. Unlike carry-out from a traditional hibachi restaurant where the cost of the entertainment is baked into the meal prices, Hibachi Express cuts out that expense and passes the value on to its customers in larger portion size and lower prices.

In the last 3-4 months a new younger guy has been working the front register and phones in the evenings at the Tallmadge Ave location. (I think his name was Ben) Every time I go he is the most professional, courteous, and friendly employee I’ve ever seen! The kid goes above and beyond to make sure you’re happy, and does it all with a smile on his face. With his skills and dedicated attitude, this kid will be owning his own store before we know it!

Overall I give this specific location (Tallmadge Ave) a 5-star review! The food is a good meal at an affordable price with stellar service to boot! I would recommend it to a friend, or anyone who wants habachi without paying the price of Wasabi and similar place.

Kid-friendliness: Small waiting area with a bench and a few vending machines. It’s clearly sectioned off so kids can’t wonder in the back, and it’s so small they can’t really get out of your sight.

The chicken didn’t taste like chicken all i’m going to say tastes a spooked very funny. I did appreciate the free california roll though that and yhe dried rice was good.

This owner helped me to eat when I was down on my luck with no money, about a month ago. He asked me what I wanted and I picked chicken and noodles. Truly a kind man. Sir, it meant so much to me that you helped me. God bless you. I'll be back soon to buy a plate :)
