Traditional old style Italian food with red sauce, meatballs, ravioli, lasagna, etc! Checkered table clothes and lots of fresh cheese on the salad.
Luigi’s in Akron is hands-down one of the best spots for pizza in all of Ohio. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, old-school charm that feels like stepping back in time—in the best way possible.
Now let’s talk about the pizza. The crust is absolutely perfect—crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, with just the right amount of bite. The sauce is rich, slightly sweet, and full of flavor, clearly made with care and tradition. Toppings are always fresh and generously piled on, and don’t even get me started on the cheese… They don’t hold back! Every bite is gooey, melty, and satisfying in a way only true comfort food can be.
If you’re anywhere near Akron and craving a classic, mouthwatering pizza that hits all the right notes, Luigi’s is the place to go. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience rooted in tradition and flavor. Highly recommended!
For an Italian place the pizza is very bad.
If you plan to work for this man Tony Ciriello plan to keep your mouth shut… this women here is Dawn Edwards and she is the day time manger but also lover and best friend supposedly to the owner Tony… on 4-7-2025 an employee saw a bag of meth on the floor and gave the meth to the manager dawn… the whole staff proceeded to laugh about the substance found and went into the cooler waving the meth bag around at the camera joking… after this a whole day had passed… a man named Mike came to work the very next day and an employee named Jeff brought to mikes attention that meth had been found in the kitchen (obviously this is a big safety concern not only for the employees but also the many customer who come in daily) so Mike proceeded to ask dawn about the happenings of the meth but had to wait for the following day 4-9-2025…when brought up to dawn she said she would look into the cameras and see exactly what happened..dawn and Mike also agreed that the day shift employees would all be drug tested as well the plan was to get rid of whoever allowed these drugs to come in… well the next day while dawn was texting Mike she said she couldn’t see anything on camera and that she had only drug tested one single employee instead of all of the employees working that day… Mike stated to dawn that he himself would look at the cameras…dawn answered in a text with “you just won’t let this go” and at the time Mike knew something wasn’t good here.. Mike went in that day and with the help Of another manger Morgan Kennedy they discussed going into the office and finding out what happened was the best option so they did just that until dawn called Morgan and told her to not to let Mike back into the office and that Morgan wasn’t to look at any footage from 4-7-2025 on the surveillance cameras… when Mike brought this all up to Tony (the owner) he said that he and Jen (hr) would take care of this issue… well the very next week when Mike came into work he asked again to Tony what’s going on with the meth brought in here and Tony down played drugs in his kitchen by saying at least they are making money from selling drugs and maybe it was just cocaine he also refused to speak on the topic and told Mike to take off work for 2 weeks… which in turn ended up just letting Mike go for whistleblowing illegal drugs found in a work place… moral of what happened here and what has been discovered is that working for someone like this means if you stand up for others safety you could be at risk for your job even if you are doing the right thing… Mike could have chosen to shut up about it but because that wasn’t what was best for the customers or employees… this shows just a bit of the atmosphere and retaliation you’ll be met with if you don’t align with their agenda… this is all my opinion on the matter and what I witnessed
Great pizza and more!!!!
My experience was negative. I called an made an to go order. When I arrived they told me they don’t take debit or credit cards. They only take cash and local checks. However, they had an ATM in the back of the restaurant for an extra $2.50. I drove for 20 minutes to get to this restaurant. I think they should have told me that they only took cash and local checks when I made my to go order.
Great italian restaurant. Brings back alot of memories as a kid. Love the atmosphere and memorabilia. Pizza was great.

Absolutely baffled by the reviews. We thought it must be amazing for people to stand in the cold for 30 min on a Monday, but we were very disappointed. The bread at the beginning was the only good part. My husband's meat lasagna had very little meat and even less ricotta cheese. It was just some lasagna noodles with mozzarella on top. My baked cheese lasagna was overcooked mush. Neither of us ate our meals.

This place is absolutely wonderful and the best at everything they do. Salad, pizza, pasta you name it. Great atmosphere, wonderful people and good service. Tonight was the first time I've had a wait, usually I've been able to walk in. Pictured is the small spaghetti with meat sauce. Also don't forget to ask for cheese on your salad ;)
