This is the café on the main level of the Akron Municipal Courthouse. It is newly remodeled with clean, classy bistro pub tables and stools and/or benches. It's more of what might be expected to be found in a Courthouse or Municipal Center but still no walls, which is interesting, probably because during "high tide" the professionals who are working all day along with clients may find quite a crowd in line for just a cup of coffee or cocoa, so no feeling of being backed up out the door when there literally is no door. :) keeps the breeze flowing. The prices are higher than I expected so no chow for me, but the fountain drinks and beverages are manageable for an after-court treat. The cleanliness is a 5, and menu options are various so I also give a 5 for variety. The prices are the only reason I give a 4 star rating because often the visitors such as me are well below median level income and can't afford a 5star menu, but it's nice to know it's there. At least we know the jurors can afford it at $20/day juror pay. Easy to find once you are inside the Courthouse.

Who would have thought you could have an absolutely superb dinning experience in the basement of the Summit County Courthouse in Akron Ohio! Well you can and I did — today. The Courthouse Cafe is not exactly a destination for a dining experience. However, if business takes you to the courthouse you won't be disappointed. Breakfast, lunch, snack or just coffee it is all fresh and serviced with a smile from the very helpful crew. Wendy is the locally well known owner and it is very clear she runs a tight but very accommodating ship. Don't let a line discourage you — service is fast and adequate seating is available. Enjoy!

What a disappointment. Store bought bagels out of a bag. Stale donuts, looked like premade egg circles. Over priced. Not again.

I love this place. They make the food as soon as you order it so it is always fresh. I always get the chicken pita with grilled peppers & mushrooms, lettuce, tomato and gyro sauce. I love that you can get a side of fruit, pineapple instead of chips. The ladies that work their are sweet and since I'm a regular they always know my order when ever I go in.

Food was great! Fresh and fast service. I had the Tuscan pita and beef noodle soup. Flavors were great! I called and picked my order up. I was in town for business so I was not familiar with this area so I recommend calling to check out their daily specials as they have things that are not on the menu also the parking was non-existent. I ended up parking across the street near the bank, not entirely sure I could even park there but it worked.

A great place for lunch in Downtown Akron. Right down the street from me, so I've been there often. Gyros are the mainstay here, and they have a nice variety of other choices. I get my gyro with feta & YaYa's Greek dressing, yum! The Blue Chicken is good as well, grilled chicken with blue cheese, ranch, & hot sauce. The Italian sausage is amazing, spicy goodness. In the mood for a salad? Made to order here, or the standards, like my favorites, the Chopped Wedge with bacon, eggs, blue cheese, or the Berry Bom, with strawberries, walnuts, raisins. I've tried the burger, which is good, but prefer the grilled chicken choices. Most sandwiches are served on a delicious pita. Most sandwiches are in the $6 range, extra for sides. The macaroni & cheese is exceptional. They also have periodic special menu items, as well as soup du jour. I appreciate both the menu variety as well as the selection of healthier choices. There are booths if you wish to eat in, though we do carry out to eat at the picnic tables in the park by the Courthouse. They deliver to the immediate area, and you can call in your order if you wish. (Added 2/26/16 Tried the black bean burger today and it was delicious. Heaped on the veggies & served with buffalo hot sauce. Mm mm!) The service is excellent and friendly, and they will customize your lunch to your liking. Sometimes there's a line, but it's worth the wait for a dependably good lunch. Plus, it's pretty nice to chat with other downtowners when in line.

I read the reviews, saw the 5-star rating and the funky urban location, and I let my imagination run wild. I envisioned a hole in the wall of "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" quality... you know, a place where a salt of the earth overweight Greek American guy throws slices of homemade brisket and fresh Italian sausages on a griddle in lots of butter, then piles them high onto golden-brown crispy rolls and hands them to Guy Fieri to bite into. You know, a place serving slices of homemade banana cream pie to hungry lunch goers, and bowls of piping hot matzo ball soup. A place like Diamond Deli. What I found instead was a joint that doesn't quite pass muster for the food-obsessed like myself. The staff is as sweet as they come, but the product isn't the expertly-executed comfort food I had hoped for....it might be better described as cafeteria food for the in-a-hurry, non-discerning businessman. Case study: a breakfast bagel sandwich that I ordered on a chilly weekday morning. Shouldn't be too hard to master: baseline expectations for such a dish (discounting the lowly examples set by places such as Einstein's) might consist of a toasted/griddled bagel, a flavorful slice of cheese, a fresh fried egg, a slice of tomato, salt and pepper. The Street Treats version of the breakfast bagel, sadly, was a flawed from the outset. It began with a microwaved - yes, microwaved - bagel. Have you ever microwaved a bagel before? Microwaving bread, in general, shrinks it, resulting in uncomely spongy texture, not the golden crispiness that I demand in my morning bread products. As for what was between the bagel slices, well, the egg was one of those pre-cooked discs you get at McDonald's or Einstein's. This was all the more baffling to me considering the big flat-top griddle I saw in the kitchen at Street Treats. Those flat tops make dynamite quick eggs!: crack, sizzle, flip, and voilá; over easy and onto your sandwich in less than 2 minutes...the heat from the egg melting the cheese in the process. To do it any other way is criminal! Finally, the bacon was of the Oscar Meyer variety, paper-thin, pre-cooked and re-heated. Like the bacon on the Starbucks breakfast sandwiches, the kind that makes you wonder what kind of a diet the pig was on before he met his doom. These types of details and oversights, unfortunately, are usually indicators of the broader food philosophy of an establishment, which means that I probably won't be returning to Street Treats myself in the near future. If you're curious about S.T., though, please, don't take it from me - the other reviews you see say very nice things; as for my opinion, you know what they say about opinions being like a certain body part. There is no shortage of low prices and friendly service at ST, and if those are your guiding lights, I'm sure you'll find plenty to like.

Go . . . . get the Italian sausage. You'll thank me later. I am also a fan of their chicken noodle soup.

Great for lunch with a fast moving line. I'm not a big pita fan but these are so delicious. The only downside, if you can call it that, is that I can't figure out my favorite because I always want to try a new one. And I've never been disappointed.

Really good food but be cautious that some of the wraps are super messy (although they come with a fork). The grilled cheese pita is my favorite. Staff is very friendly!
