I was at Summa today for my surgery follow up. I used to work for the GM of the food service restaurants at the hospital. The fine dining Virtues Restaurant used to be under our purview.. I loved they always had a good selection of gluten-free desserts (chocolate mousse, cookies and more) and other entrées available gluten-free as well as a pizza with a gluten-free crust. Well, the quality and the options have definitely decreased. My pizza crust was mostly raw and they only had a gluten-free brownie to offer. Probably won’t be coming back again.
Dietary restrictions: Not as much options for gluten allergy than they used to have

If you want something more than the typical hospital cafeteria food, then try Virtues. They are located on the ground floor of Akron Summa hospital. I am at the hospital because a family member is having surgery, and this restaurant was recommended by the desk staff. You walk to the counter and order. They give you a buzzer that signals you when the order is ready. I had the signature BLT and a side Ceasar salad. The salad was good size, lettuce was crisp and fresh. The BLT is served on sourdough bread and had a chitpotle mayo that gave it a good flavor and just a tinge of heat. For expecting "hospital" food, this was a pleasant surprise. It cost me just under $20 for the sandwich, salad, and a fountain drink.

Very good
Ate here while my son has been in the hospital. The food is good. I wouldn't say it was the greatest. And definitely not worth the money!! It is sooooo expensive.

Very good and healthy food for it being in a hospital. Was my first time there also.
We love this place! Our food has always been excellent and most of their servers are wonderful, making you feel like family before you leave!
Great food, and definitely much better service than what you get at a lot of the popular fast food restaurants and a lot of other small privately owned places.
Virtues is located just in the Summa Hospital in Akron. The restaurant is clean and inviting, with comfortable seating of various types. Our server was pleasant and efficient. Make sure to check their "daily specials, which are often worth the trip".I had the Pear Gorgonzola Pizza...it was very delicious...crispy, thin crust topped with plenty of pears and cheese, and drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Lovely gourmet pizza; I would order again. My husband had the fish filet sandwich...he says the fish was tasty, but it came on a hamburger roll with American cheese, and it was more bread than it was fish@ $8.95 with no sides...not even chips. He would not order again.
Always good food and good service.
