We have heard nothing but good things about this restaurant for years. Today was our first time trying it and the experience was nothing short of disappointing. They were out of most food, didn't have pop, the sweet tea wasn't very sweet, food didn't come as ordered, and prices didn't match the menu. The waitress provided excellent service and was very kind but this situation is totally out of her control and unfair to her. Many people walked out almost as soon as they came in. The bathroom was poorly maintained and had no paper towels or toilet paper. They said they're switching owners and that's why everything was bad, but they should have just closed the place. We will not be going back.

Just an excellent small town cafe of the "old school" sort. Not fancy at all but had the bacon and eggs and was fantastic. If choosing potatoes get the home fries. They were nice and crispy - perfect really. Glad I found it.

Service was extremely slow. Food wasn't too bad but some of it was cold when they brought it to us. Next day around 10 am my stomach started hurting and then I started feeling horrible. Ended up getting sick for hours, thought I was dieing. Honestly I believe that I got food poisoning from eating

In my opinion this is probably the best place to eat in Albany. I eat here all the time and the staff is always very friendly to me. It is basically a second home.It's main competition for Albany Cafe is Ray's harvest house. While I do like their food better the staff is extremely rude and neglectful. I used to work at Ray's and the boss was very mean to anyone that wasn't apart of the family.I have paid close attention to Albany Cafe's work environment and it seems to be a million times better than Ray's. I would highly recommend Albany Cafe to anyone and would highly discourage Ray's.

Eating area was just a little cool on a frigid morning. Temp could have been turned up above 65 degrees.Parking: Plenty of options to park, and interesting to eat in the former cafeteria.

Its pretty disgusting the entire staff is on drugs. Its very sad that a cook overdosed in the bathroom there. I am not sure what kind of business there running but it's terrible and very sad. I think the entire work crew uses drugs, i would not want them touching my food. I also think one if the cooks is living in there at night. I smelled cigarettes one early morning. Very disappointed in the way it is being ran. I wont be back because fetynal kills and if there using that and touching food.

Awesome cafe with amazing food at great prices. This little restaurant is well known to locals and is set in an old elementary school cafeteria. Such a unique and fun atmosphere. Service is great and the people friendly.
New to the area. The cafe was recommended and our lunch today (actually ordered breakfast) was fantastic. Service was prompt & friendly, food tasty and well priced. Looks like we’ve just found our go to restaurant nearby. Thanks!!

Well website said closes at 7 door says 3. We walked in at 12:24 waited till 12:45 went to register to check to see about ordering 5 minutes later order taken. Then we waited at 1:45 people walking in workers tell them we closed no more ordering. At 2:05 we get up to leave and the waitress says oh here is your food. My husband didn't. T get all what he ordered and the waitress said I'm clocking out I'm done tore the day I wasn't even suppose to be here. No refills. There was a young gentleman that came to check on us twice but he couldn't take order, just asked how long we all have waited they took a percentage of the bill but we will never return food cold, not done or we didn't get some stuff we ordered. No one apologized. No they wasn't even busy

This is a very cool cafe setup in the cafeteria of an old small town school. Good food and very friendly staff! This is a great stop for anyone and especially if you're riding the windy roads of southeastern Ohio on a motorcycle.
