“The Gem of Appalachian Hwy - OH32/Rt50E”

Wife and I was just getting back from a 800 mile LaborDay Weekend Roadtrip, we came thru CincinnatiOH and onto Appalachian Hwy which was a perfect traveling scenic highway to travel toward AthensOH.
Wright before AlbanyOH we started getting a little hungry and it was about Lunch Time, so my Wife started researching Google Maps for place to stop at to have a bite to eat Google Maps pin pointed in on Mammie’s Country Kitchen which she stated im not positive but i believe this may be a Ole Elem. Schl Cafeteria, we was both little excited to head back to school after 40yrs (lol).
Once arrived to location sure enough it was a Ole Schl Cafteria, just awesome!!, we entered thru doors and it was just as nothing had been changed (Step back n Time) seen the walls of lockers and walls.
We entered thru the doorway of Cafeteria / Mammie’s Country Kitchen and was met by the Hostess/Waitress she was so very nice with a great appearance and attitude.
She took our orders which was (2- Hamburgers with each Crinkle Fries & our desserts was a Pie each) the food was cooked to perfection and brought out to our table within 10–15minutes it all tasted Delicious and it the Spot just what we needed to finish out our travel.
While setting there waiting for our orders to be brought out to our tables gave us time to look around at the Cafeteria which had the looking of a Ole Schl Cafeteria that had the Chalkboard, Old Seats and etc, defiantly do not change a thing here its perfect for us all ole timers.
This is a Restaurant you do not want to pass up defiantly make a stop here, we defiantly plan stopping here when we are headed back west / east from now on.

Parking: Pull wright up to Front of School Doors and Mammie’s Country Kitchen, there is also medium size Parking Lot and Sidewalks n Steps are in good shape as well.”

“Came here for our Valentine’s Day dinner and was not expecting them to be as busy as they were. Our waiter was working his butt off to get everyone their orders and did it with a smile the whole time. Not only was the food fantastic but the customer service was one of the best I’ve had…. Will definitely be coming back!!!”

“Finally got the chance to dine in at one of highest rated restaurants in the town. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered lamb chops, lamb shawarma and chicken wrap. Lamb chops were okayish but the shawarma and chicken wrap were really good. In desserts , we were split between chocolate forte and tiramisu. We went for chocolate forte and it was delicious. I would recommend this place if you are in town.”

“Took my father out for breakfast this morning and had the nicest server. She was super friendly and had a great recommendation on what to get. I had the breakfast burger and dad had the biscuit stack. The food was great and very generous portions. When we left, Dad forgot his cell phone on the table. We only knew that because our server came running out of the door as we got to our vehicle. Unfortunately, I didn't remember her name but we are very thankful and will definitely be back.”

“I was eagerly waiting to try this place. I ordered a chicken shawarma which was tender and flavorful. It came wrapped in warm pita filled with onions,tomatoes, lettuce and topped with house sauce and tahini . I highly recommend this place for anyone craving Mediterranean food”

“My wife and I made a random stop while on a road trip and stumbled onto one of our favorite places in the country. The atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming. The entertainment was amazing. Everything we ordered tasted fantastic, the honey horseradish sauce is the best thing I’ve ever tasted. I definitely know where we will be stopping whenever driving through Ohio. The atmosphere is great, it’s very clean and happy place. The staff was constantly checking on us and made sure the food was good. We are already planning our next visit back.
