The Wagon Wheel typifies all that is the midwestern, working class dive bar. It has cheap beers, one of those old analog cash registers (no credit cards, of course), one pool table and a couple of old cue sticks, and a regular crowd. It's also the oldest bar in town, which gives it a cross-generational tradition. The owner of the bar is the sweetest man you'll ever meet. He will just talk to you for hours about his proud Irish heritage. Great man. They usually have good music there, live singers/bands most of the time. It really is a great place to sit around with a small group of friends and BS for hours. Bartenders are nice, people are welcoming. I definitely recommend to come here if you're in Ashland for a night.
