Toro Carryout Restaurant

Ordered from a fav yesterday……food was just aweful……falafel had no flavor at all……no sauce on my falafel roll up….chicken salad was terrible……chicken hunks were small grains of chicken all fried up……no lettuce……just yucky. So disappointed….has ownership changed or what?

1st time trying this place out. Grape leaves are phenomenal. Baklava was perfect. I played it safe with a Chicken Philly bowl which was tasty. I will definitely get something more traditional next time.

I am from Virginia beach VA and was in ashtabula visiting my husbands family and during my stay there, my boss ordered me doordash and I chose Toro because the pictures looked drool worthy! I was so excited when I received the order but couldn't eat it for another few hours. Didn't matter though because the quality and taste was so incredible!!! I order the chicken shawarma and it reminded me of my time in Europe and has been everything I have been searching for for the past decade! The white sauce, the chicken, THE BAKLAVA!!!!!! I have since come back home and have tried every Mediterranean & shawarma spot in the area and nothing comes close to this gem TORO!! Can't wait to come back to ohio- specifically to Ashtabula to get some TORO

What a culinary treasure hidden up here in Ashtabula.
A husband and wife team work together to put out amazing food. She is the baker. Her baklava is simply amazing. Best I have ever had. Abe is the cook. His chicken shawerma and falafel are as good as the. Baklava. Chef's kiss!!!
If you are within 50 miles of Ashtabula, I would highly recommend making a bee line to TORO.

Stopped in on a whim after a day at Lake Erie. Hubby is vegan, he had the falafel wrap and I had the Philly steak wrap- both were delicious. The baba was also so good, great flavor. Everything was fresh. Owner was so friendly. Will stop again!

Vegetarian options: Have vegan falafel wrap and baba and hummus.

I've lived in the area for quite sometime and happily just discovered Toro yesterday evening. The owner is kind and hardworking. The food is delicious and healthy. His homemade baklava is AMAZING!

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Ashtabula. Anytime that my husband or I stop in we are always treated kindly. The food is delicious and prepared the same way every time. Even in takeout containers the food is presented in an appetizing way and always arrives hot.

Toro has the best gyros and fries and baclava I ever tasted and he’s definitely the top one of my favorites. Thank you being in Ashtabula Ohio wish you had a place down in the Harbor here. Best food ever
