Hands down the best pizza in Athens, although it's not fair because it's one of the best pizzas in Ohio, if not the country (and they have the well deserved awards to prove it). The regular cheese is good enough, but it's the toppings that set it ahead of the competition by a mile. They're fresh, ample, and surprising. The specialty pizzas are fantastic. Atmosphere should be a N/A because it's just a pick-up counter, basically.

My husband and I got two 10" pizzas, the Chicken Florentine and the Death Pickle. After all the hype, we were not disappointed—they were delicious! Friendly service, and fast, too, even though we ordered at the counter. And even with an approx. 20-minute drive, our pizza was actually still hot enough to enjoy right out of the box, which was a definite plus. We also found the prices super reasonable, especially since we'll be getting two meals each out of our pizzas. We'll absolutely be stopping by whenever we're in the area! One thing to note: We expected some seating inside but the only seating is at a couple picnic tables by the parking lot, FYI.

It was so great we had it twice on our trip to Athens. There are so many options offered by avalanche and every pizza we had was great. Online ordering was a little odd for making modifications, but everything we ordered and picked up came as we had asked, so can’t complain too much. Calzones are great as well and are very filling. Some good dessert options as well. Would highly suggest Avalanche and hope to try some of the stuff at The Slice when we return!

We ordered 2-14 inch pizzas, the Meatball and the Greek Saganaki. The Saganaki was supposed to have roasted garlic cloves and sun dried red pepper. Most of the garlic cloves were barely roasted so they tasted raw. The red pepper was burnt. The meatball on the Meatball pizza was more like diced meat pieces. Too tiny to taste so the pizza was bland in general. And the dough was too thick. No crisp. We took the pizzas straight from the pizzaria to our rental. We were so disappointed when we sat down to eat.

I always make it a point to visit here when I'm in town for the pawpaw festival. Easily one of my favorite pizza places from up and down the east coast. More unique pizza topping combinations, but the ingredients are fresh and local. The dough is great also. They cut the pizza crisscrossed so its not pie slices, its more like little rectangles in the circle. Don't come here expecting to eat there, its a small building withh not much parking.

This is hands down the best pizza in Athens. I like the variety of different types of pizza. I also enjoy the sourdough style crust. My wife likes that there are gluten-friendly options. I can always get what I want and stop by frequently.

I infrequently get to the Athens area, but always get a take and bake pepperoni or margarita pizza. ***** 5 star rating.

I've ordered so much pizza from here. Love all the specialty pizzas, especially the Cactus Jack Fajita and the Skeletonwitch. Very sad that I recently moved away from Athens.

Consistently the best pizza in Athens, hands down. The combinations are things you won't see anywhere else, and they are all fantastic.

Staff was really friendly and open to questions. Pizza was heavy and could have been cooked longer. Would try again if in the area but not a destination pizza place for me. It does reheat well. Don't expect much if you are dining outside at the picnic tables - they do not have disposable tableware. Our dog was with us but they were not overly dog friendly. They do have a cute photo opp.

@Avalanche we did ask for if there were Paper plates but there were just napkins. We asked if we could have and disposable cup or bowl for our dog but there were none available. Later we were able to use an empty cup from a drink and ask for water from your sink though. Thanks!
