I had lunch with my daughter yesterday for the first time and I am ashamed I have not eaten here sooner! Our service was outstanding, the bar drinks were on spot and I don’t even have words for how amazing your roasted chicken is!!!

Cool, bohemian space with amazing fresh food. Literally everything is good. Plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options. Coloring pages and crayons for kids. No parking lot, but street parking is usually easy enough to find.

Nothing says Athens, OH like Casa Nueva. A pillar in the community, an excellent atmosphere, and delicious food to boot, I always highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food in Athens. You will not get anything like it anywhere else.

We came here with a reservation during a pretty busy time- right after med school convocation. Seated right away and drinks came out fast as did our chips and salsa (not free, so we ordered 2 for party of 8). My husbands drink was incorrect but he told the waitress no worries, he didn't mind drinking what was brought. The drink brought was $12 cheaper than what he got but we assumed it was put in incorrectly. Ordered our entrees next. We were informed pretty shortly thereafter that system was down so things may be delayed. They were, sat over 45 minutes longer but so did everyone else of course. Waitress did not come back often for refills but when she did she was accommodating. Food was great! Really unique and huge portions. Everyone liked their meals. I did ask for sour cream and never got it. Once check arrived, the drink was incorrect and we were going to be charged $18 for a $6 drink. Glad we checked! Waitress was accommodating and apologetic. It's a no tipping place so food prices are a bit higher. Which makes sense. Might go back if in the area since food was quite good. It's a nice atmosphere as well.

I was really disappointed in the quality and quantity of my food for the price. I got two very small chicken tacos for 12 dollars that tasted like a microwave meal. It’s such a shame, I used to love eating here when I lived in Athens but the food isn’t as good! That being said we had fast service and the restaurant was very clean.

Well-marked vegan options on the in-house menu. The vegan burrito is FANTASTIC. So flavorful and hearty - packed with tofu, veggies, black beans, rice and salsa. The tofu fries made me do a happy dance in my chair, they were so good!!
The service was great the night we went, super friendly staff and no undue delays. Although our friends who live locally did warn us that the service can be super slow at times.
Casa Nueva will be our go-to any time we find ourselves in Athens.
