Delicious Chinese food, every single time I've ordered from here over the past 5 years. The owner/chef has always been the same, nothing has changed from pre-covid to now. Same great food, same great cooking.Reading some of the recent reviews, I want to confirm that the restaurant is still take-out only since 2020, but so is the only real competition in this town for best Chinese restaurant, Dynasty Restaurant.China Fortune is also the only Chinese restaurant that I've ever been able to get to make a dish spicy enough for my taste.

This was my first time at this restaurant and I am greatly disappointed. The previous reviews were positive! Only after arriving home and throwing the take out in the trash did I notice that most reviews are pre-covid. Upon arrival there is a sign on the building stating "Due to COVID we are take out only". I had called ahead and my order was waiting. Nice. However, when I got home and opened the boxes.....oh no. The vegetable lo mein is a ball of mush with a few pieces of broccoli on top. and the chicken fried rice is no better. I do not know why I ventured to taste it. I dished some out, added some soy sauce, and....had to spit it out. So gross. Burnt old oil flavor! All of it into the trash!

I have been going to this restaurant since I was probably five years old. This is, and always has been, the best Chinese food in Athens. Sandy is the best and her food is too. The best fried pork dumplings and chicken fried rice I’ve ever had!

Crab Rangoon was delicious but the 2 orders of general sos chicken..has no flavoring and is supper tough can hardly chew and swallow it..WHAT!!! a waste of 36$
Parking: No parking very hard to get to gonna have to walk no matter what

Ordered pork lo mein with pork fried rice and couple egg rolls. Was very good. Met the owner Sandy, she was very friendly and hospitable. Great take out service. I will return. Be nice if she would open up a restaurant in Nelsonville.

We're new to the area and have been trying to find our new go-to Chinese place. This is by far the best we've had! Everything we got was delicious. They have some interesting menu choices beyond the standard Chinese take-out that I can't wait to try more of. The prices are fantastic. Will definitely be ordering here regularly.

Edit:Still the best Chinese food in Athens. Got strong armed into trying a couple of the others and the fam and I all agreed, China Fortune is the best. The freshest, the best sauces and most authentic (if you care about that). One of the top 3 places all my friends who visit from out of town want to return to every time.By FAR the best choice for Chinese Food in Athens. Unless you like food poisoning. Owned and operated by long time Athens resident and featuring a great traditional menu. Sometimes the servers are new. Have patience. The food is awesome.

I've been very happy ever since they added the more traditional Chinese menu items. These can be pricey depending on the market and what you order, but they are worth it.

I was in Athens yesterday and walked in to order takeout. It was made on the spot and was delicious. The restaurant appears to be closed to all but takeout, but I saw no sign saying this. They have modified hours of 12-9. There is no working online presence. Their Facebook page was last updated in 2016. Both Facebook and Google have links to a website and an "order online" button, but both are non-functioning - they go to a non-functioning website that is clearly not operated by the restaurant. So absent any other information, I'm assuming that they are strictly takeout and you can only order in person or by calling them.
