Jackie O's Public House Restaurant

I went to Jackie O's after a long 12 trip on the road hoping for some good food. I am thoughly disappointed. I ordered a pasta dish, but it was so laced with red pepper and salt that it was not edible (red pepper flakes not mentioned in pastas ingredients). It took over 30 minutes to receive this dish. I asked for a replacement, which was better, but very salty! Waiting over an hour for edible food isn't my ideal meal. I'll give you 2 stars, One for our server, and one for the offer of a replacement meal.

This was my first in the Athens area and I really enjoyed the vibe that town has and Jackie O's was no exception. Also the staff there were great, our server Molly was top notch and the brewer gave us a sample of their Barley wine which was scary delicious, it was too smooth for being 15%. Our food was amazing as well, I highly recommend their cheese curds and the hush puppies. I love a good Reuben sandwich so I couldn't help myself but order the Reuben which was also outstanding. They used a different rye bread that you usually see but it was fantastic. This place was so good, I wish my hometown breweries would come here and take notes. The vibe, food, and most importantly the staff just made you want to come back. 10/10 would recommend!

A local public house, worthy of the name! Excellent beer selection (as well as non-alcoholic selection, which I appreciate), and the food was also incredible. Some of the largest, juiciest wings I’ve ever had. Love love loved the atmosphere and ambiance as well. 10/10 recommend 👍

I just gotta say the food here is not made with the care that it deserves. I had Lewellyns linguine which was a huge heap of overcooked and overly spicy pasta topped with an edible orchid, crunchy undercooked broccoli, and super salty fried tofu. Also I mentioned that I wanted the dish to be made vegan but I'm pretty sure the toast served with it had butter on it. Done with a bit more balanced flavors and better timing on the pasta, it could be a very tasty dish but I wouldn't go here for food again.

Beer was great, of course, and the staff were super attentive and helpful, attempting to remedy the situation for me.

First off, Hanna was a perfect 10/10 service
Second: the margarita pizza was great 9/10... The fish and chips wasn't too good. 5/10... Too many fries to fish ratio, and the size of the fish was ok.
Otherwise I highly recommend this place!

Just stopped in for a beer during a personal pub crawl. This place was recommended by locals we met in another nearby brewery. This is a classic old bar that has been a bit modernized. We did not eat, but heard the by Appalachian chicken is fantastic.

The good isn't that great and the floor is way to sticky. In like the aesthetic of the place and the interior makes it look good. The bathrooms are a little small and don't have that many stalls

We were in town for a wedding and stopped here. I would highly recommend the blackberry salmon- honestly some of the best salmon I’ve had. My husband had the ribeye sandwich which he said was also very good. Such a pleasant experience.

This place is as much an Athens institution as the Passion Flower and drunk undergrads on Halloween. Highly recommend.

The shaved ribeye sandwich was wonderful. Sorry to have taken picture half way through the sandwich. The porter & Nitro stout were as well.
