Jackie O's Public House Restaurant

We went there for lunch. Our server was visibly overwhelmed which put a bit of a damper on our lunch because each time she came to our table, she was a ball of stress. The fish and chips were good, the hot honey pizza was delicious. The kids max and cheese didn’t have flavor and my son refused to eat it.

Not really the quality of food for the price. I ordered steak on my ceaser salad...and there were three small slices. My son ordered ribs...and they were tough and fatty and not worth the $36 we paid for them.

Stopped in for a quick drink today on the way back to Columbus. Nice little spot to enjoy a midday libation. Next time I stop in, I'm going to try the fish and chips though.

Parking: slow down as you approach and find whatever spot you can on the street. Otherwise you'll end up around the corner and walking back ?.

My wife went to school at Ohio University... and we were in town with 5 other friends for four days enjoying the local roads (on our motorcycles) and enjoying the town every afternoon and evening.

A very welcoming restaurant (next door to their brewpub). Staff was very nice and helpful. Food was pretty good. Pizza was probably the best thing amongst all that we ordered. Tacos kinda fell apart (they should double up on the tortillas). Reuben was pretty good.

Great draft list.

We all said we'd go back if we're back in town.

Was excited to try this place. Generally a fan of locally sourced ingredients and brew pubs but the food we ordered was terrible and the service was lackluster.

My husband and I are traveling from Texas to New Hampshire on the motorcycle. A friend suggested Jackie O's. The wings were good, the Reuben sandwich was greasy and fatty, while the Margarita Pizza was good also. Our waitress Katie was amazing. Maybe other choices are better.

Parking: Right by college and street parking only. Free on weekends.

Jackie O's has changed quite a bit over the years. It was my first time in about 5-6 years. It had a dive kind of feel before, but it seems to have renovated not too long ago. The inside is much more modern and more spacious. The menu is a bit more pricey than I remember. I got the Nashville Chicken Sandwich and the bun was huge. It was all good, but the nostalgia wasn't really there anymore. Maybe if we went to the upstairs patio, it would have hit me.

Regardless, this is always my favorite place to go to in Athens. It's less crazy and has a more welcoming feeling.

Food was amazing. I got the cheddar Mac and my husband got the Appalachian chicken sandwich. We both got fries with ranch on the side. The ranch was bomb. If I could give a 10 I would.
