Jackie O’s taproom is one of my favorite stops for a low key drink in Athens, OH. It’s located off the main streets for a more hometown feel. They serve tons of local brews as well as wines and lower proof drinks for patrons looking for anything other than beer. I’d highly recommend the location. They have plenty of off street parking as well as super clean restrooms. The staff is always friendly and attentive to your needs. They have tasty cakes, cookie treats and cold...
Update: As usual, the taproom is a great place to sit and beer. Food, at least on a Sunday, not so much. Got a choice between two pre-made sandwiches and went with the ham and swiss ...the sandwich was very compact, about fist-sized, and way more bread than filling. Very disappointing for $9; basic, like something you could pick up at a Speedway for half the cost. I wish the condiments on the side were labeled, because what looked like just grainy mustard contained a ton of horseradish....
Jackie O's, off the top of my head, there's only two things you could do to make your location even better: 1.) Start using beef tallow instead of industrial oils for fried foods. You could probably partner with RL Valley for suet to make it all local too! 2.)...
