absolutely vile experience here today. Got my Mac, got home, started stirring it up, just to stir up a short black hair. Context- I have long, blonde hair. I’m one of those people that once I find a hair in my food, the rest can not be touched. $15 wasted and I didn’t even get to eat a single bite.
** edit to give them a star back. They were prompt to rectify the situation and refund me, but it is something that never should have happened in the first place.

the workers were god sent and so sweet, mac and cheese was so fire i had dreams about it 10/10 would eat it so many more times. it was very crowded (it was halloweekend so it’s expected) but nice atmosphere and very cutesy on the inside and outside.

If you’re gonna go, do it on a Monday when it’s half-price day. Very midrange. Just kind of ‘eh’. Went here for a friend’s birthday expecting a Mac and cheese bar type experience (like a buffet or subway/chipotle kinda thing) but it’s just a small place with very little seating and you order at the counter.
I paid $12 for the Kid Rock, which had pulled chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, and ranch. The ranch was actually great in the Mac and cheese and added a lot of extra flavor, but the pulled chicken was just grilled strips and not pulled at all. Kinda disappointing. Size was also very small considering the price, but it was so rich that I was full by the time I was done.
Went ahead and got their dessert (which rotates weekly), The Hollaback Girl pie, and that was good, if not a little basic; pie crust, chocolate pudding, whipped cream, and a singe banana slice.
I’m glad I went to check it out, but I’ll never crave this place.

If you're going to do one thing on your menu, make sure you do it extremely well. The Mac and cheese was pretty mid-range. My pasta wasn't overcooked but there was hardly any flavor other than the ranch I got in it. The pulled chicken is 100% canned chicken. I feel like I got scammed for how much I paid for both the joke size quantity ($9 for a small tin of Mac, isn't this supposed to be an entrée?) and the low quality of food. Pretty disappointing for my first trip to Athens. Pictured is the regular portion size next to my husband's hand...

The prospect of a dedicated Mac n' Cheese style restaurant was intriguing enough to convince me to try Mac Shack despite the low review score... should have listened to the people. The dishes was bland, portions were alarmingly small, and overall the experience was disappointing. Pretty sure for the $14 I paid for the "large" entree I could have gotten more food at any other restaurant in Athens, which is wild considering the main ingredient in mac and cheese is pasta?! Even the dessert seemed like it was a couple of grocery store ingredients slapped together and tasted as interesting. I would not return given the chance.

Food was good. Upset about the pricing. You shouldn't have a big thing in the window that says "1/2 price mac monday" when you have to order a drink to get half off. The cheapest drink being $3 kind of defeats the purpose of the half off. I was rung out for $30 and I asked them about the discount and they said I had to have a drink, and then it only came down to $25.

Truly a fantastic experience. I came here to see the game with my friends and band mates. The food was fantastic(I had the Black Sabbath.) there was only one person working there but was really nice. And the little tv showing trivia questions kept us entertained until our food was ready. Truly a great time?

The Mac was decent if you are a drunk college student but If you are looking for a good meal I do not recommend the Mac was plain as hell the cookies where hard as bricks like I couldn’t even take a bite out of them best bet is to go to big mamas right beside it??♀️
