Mauvette’s is a MUST! Walked in on a Sunday evening and had never been nor familiar with the food on the menu. Mauvette and the lovely lady at the registrar walked me through the menu and gave wonderful recommendations. Mauvette ordering for me made the experience so fun! The jerk chicken platter and curry patty was delicious. I can’t wait to continue working through the menu!

Mauvette's offers the best food in town, likely the best in Athens. The menu features delicious dishes like lamb chops, mahi mahi, jerk chicken, fried chicken, soups, and desserts. Specials like the oxtail stew, nicely spiced and falling off the bone, are a treat. The plantains are a must, and meals come with rice and peas. It is real Jamician food with a friendly and welcoming staff. The owner is amazing and sweet, taking time to explain the specials. Every dish is delicious, encouraging guests to try something new, as there is no going wrong. It is worth it and a place to return to regularly.
