McHappy’s Bakery in Athens, Ohio, is an absolute gem! Their donuts are hands down some of the best I’ve ever had—perfectly fluffy, just the right amount of sweetness, and always fresh. The chocolate cake is another must-try—rich, moist, and full of decadent flavor. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is a must-stop in Athens. Great service, amazing treats, and a true hometown bakery feel. Highly recommend!

I always love stopping in at McHappy's when I get out and about on Richland. You walk in and it's like time stands still. Standing there breathing in that sweet aroma just trying to make a logical choice. It's all so magical while you glaze upon the glass of lifelong memories . Never being able to settle I find myself walking out with two boxes everytime. Make no mistake you won't find a better glazed donut around here. I would however have to say that there should be a plain jelly filled donut option with out all the icing on top and that's the only thing I would change. Try the place if you haven't already...stop in if you haven't been in a while...and until next time...Thanks McHappy keep it glazed and stay sticky...

We were in town for a conference and a local resident recommended that we try McHappys. On our final morning, we went thru the drive-thru and we were greeted by the manager. She was very kind and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our choices and told our other conference attendees about our experience. We will definitely stop by again the next time we are in the area

Soo good. We ordered a double chocolate muffin, a blueberry donut, and a blackberry jelly filled donut. Soo many choices. We will definitely return the next time we are in town. I highly recommend.

Honestly horrific customer service the old woman behind the counter was so disgruntled at a customer coming in to her place of business at 10:30am on a Sunday I’m amazed she bothered to open at all. The way you speak to people here is utterly unacceptable. Oh, and of course, the donuts are horrific and the “coffee” we got was absolutely disgusting. Avoid.

Went on a Sunday morning. The older lady behind the counter seemed annoyed we came in at all. My wife asked for recommendations on donuts to try and her response was “I have no idea.” Ok…my mistake, I thought you worked here, but oh well. We’ll just get chocolate iced rings because that’s our go to. Nope, they’re all out. So we left with nothing, feeling annoyed. Whenever I’m out of town I find local donut shops to try. This was a rare bad experience for me. Next time I’m in Athens I’ll have to just settle for Tim Horton’s.
