The food, the servers, the atmosphere, all amazing. I can be a food snob, and Purple Chopstix is one of the best places I have ever eaten.

Where do I start? Lived down here for years and never went to the place because the best Chinese in town was right down the street. Turns out this is exactly what I expected a trendy pretentious little joint with the weirdest decorations you can imagine. Walked in late on a Friday and the place is practically empty. Only one couple in front of me and they've been waiting like 20 minutes. The woman in charge was running around like a chicken with her head cut off fussing and sweating like a Karen. 10 more minutes later and she finally seats the other people and leave me standing there for yet another 10 minutes! 3 or 4 empty tables where I could have sat down and waited but no. Finally she approaches me and says do I have a reservation? Excuse me? No She walks away! Finally the one only other waitress walk me to a table that was right in front of me. Another very long wait while the one or two other tables get served and leave. She finally gives me two menus and there's only like two Asian dishes on it. Mostly pseudo Italian pasta. So I settle for the one Asian stir fry thing and it comes with a cup of soup so I ordered the tom yum thai soup. Another long wait and finally some green tea comes out. Meanwhile another couple came in after me and already had their dishes on the table. Soup was kind of strange and overly spicy. It seems like I was there for hours when the original fussy Karen brings my dish. I try a piece and the rice and of course it's cold. She comes back and I tell her this and she lies and tells me she watched the chef plate it just then. Very nasty so I said no it's been sitting back there for a while. Almost immediately the other waitress comes right back out with the same plate and I asked did they microwave that? She says no I just brought it out and I tell her the other woman had just put it on the counter and left it after I sent it back cold. She was actually very nice but the other one, no reason for it. She said the chef would be glad to do it again I said no forget it I'll just pay for the soup. I told her the other Karen was unnecessarily nasty, I left a nice tip and said do not give that to the other woman. Don't live down in Athens anymore so I won't be returning to this particular spot. Amazing how people who work in restaurants obviously hate their job or despise the people. A perfect restaurant for chef Gordon Ramsay. The one star for services for the Karen not the young lady who seemed a bit trapped in her position.

I waited tables there a few months back, and frequently brought home food which was always delicious so this is a slightly biased review right off the bat. First time going back tonight for an actual sit down and everything was so good. Even having tried nearly everything on this menu, it still took me a hot minute to decide what I wanted tonight— there really are that many good options here. I ended up picking red curry and it was ballin. Pro tip: ice cream (when available) on top of the homemade chocolate raspberry cake. Other ex employee pro tip: the salad greens are fresh daily and the sesame soy dressing is the bomb.

I hate to be a naysayer, but this restaurant did not live up to expectations. The tom yum soup was very good, but the stir fry and the Thai curry were awful. The veggies seemed to have been frozen, and the chicken was rubbery and inedible. Next time we’ll be going back to Sanam.

Their customer service was top notch. The ambience of this place is amazing. I enjoyed the outside seating which tunes you to the sound of the stream behind it, I loved this. The food was quite okay. If you plan on drinking, it is best to bring your own as they don’t serve alcohol. They will only charge you for the glasses you will use for the alcohol.

We were there as guests at a catered event. At this event the food was served buffet style. My experience has been that it is hard to have consistent quality in that setting, but wow, both the chicken and the beef dishes were delicious, and from my perspective the beef was perfectly cooked, so tender and flavorful. It seems like the restaurant is a family business, though I don't know that for sure. Very friendly, delicious food, and vibrant decorations. We glanced at the menu posted so we could think about when we will visit again

A small intimate place that has wonderful Asian Food. Best call for reservations if you want to get in as they do cater to the tables with great food and a very charming atmosphere. They DONOT serve alcohol but they allow you to bring your own wine and they do provide the glasses. Reasonable prices for the food and it is so VERY YUMMY. They have a very unique outside table area. Ask for it as you will not be disappointed. Trust this ol lady♡

Parking: You can park in front of the restaurant but you need to get there early. If you don't make it early, there is a free parking lot directly across the street.

One of the most relaxing and memorable atmospheres in Athens to enjoy a meal. In my last visit, I really enjoyed the seafood pasta with our BYOW.

The Tom Yum soup was amazing. The balance between sweet coconut with a little hint of spice was delightful! The service was great. Didn't realize they didn't have any alcohol selections on site, but you can BYOB. Which is nice, but I wasn't going to leave and come back since it's not a deal breaker for me. Posting this so others know in advance. Hopefully, next time, the weather will be better and we can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful outdoor area.

I can tell that the atmosphere is something to enjoy on its own, and the service was good however the food was not worth the price. I understand that me being GF can be difficult but unless you want Costco tortilla chips there is not really an option. Along with that the soup portion for the price was not worth it, I personally really feel upset leaving a restaurant having paid full dinner prices and planning on just making more food when I get home. Me my husband and our two year old had dinner and the only one who left satisfied was the toddler. I would consider the experience had and am not really inclined to return.

Went on the advice of many a parent comment on OU Parents’ social media pages…this restaurant is a gem and I wish we’d discovered it years ago! Such a wonder atmosphere, great service and such unique and delicious meals!

Dietary restrictions: We asked about certain ingredients for food allergy reasons and they were very thorough in their answers!
