This is my absolute favorite place to go in Athens. In fact we drive from Belpre to Athens 2-3 times a month just to eat here. They have the best wings hands down that we have ever eaten period. The Spinach Artichoke dip with pita bread is DELICIOUS! The French Onion Soup is SO Good! The Cheese burger, which is what I got the last time with garlic fries was definitely a winner. The pizza is extremely flavorful and amazing BUT my favorite and go to meal is by far the Funky Chicken Salad! YUUUUM!!! I get dill pickle juice to serve as my salad dressing. Sometimes I will even bring my own microgreens and add them to my dishes. Also, the service is ALWAYS Amazing! We love the staff there. They truly make it such an inviting and enjoyable place to actually want to be. Not one single bad thing to say about this place. We HIGHLY recommend it!!!

My server forgot my food and she would like to get it. They dropped it on the floor and it took them 30 minutes to make it again. We have been waiting for it for 30 minutes before that. She barely interacted with us and she came to our table Two Times the whole two hours we were there. Our drinks were empty 3/4 of the time and she never even bothered to fill them up!☹️ What used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but I think next time we come up here for dinner I think I’d rather go to roadhouse

this used to be a restaurant my family went to frequently, in the most recent months coming here i've noticed a fast decline in the atmosphere and service here. waited forever for food (i understand being busy but these wait times are outrageous), our waitress was negligent and we had to bother other waitresses to try to get refills... there were multiple customers as well smoking cigarettes in the very tightly packed outdoor seating area, blowing smoke into mine and my families faces as we were trying to eat...the only redeeming quality was the food.

This was my favorite place in Athens to eat. The food and service was always fantastic. I was told by a friend that the service was unbelievably horrible so I decided to check it out. Sure enough our server was awful. I've never had an experience like that from any shade location. She didn't listen to our order, she would disappear for 20-30 minutes at a time, we had to ask other servers for refills and they didn't bring them until we were leaving. Management please get these people trained or send them packing because shade is better than this.

We had lunch there yesterday. The waitress done a good job.The food was terrible!The chicken wings were like eating chewing gum. My wife got the Italian sub, very bland who makes an Italian sub without Italian dressing? lol My daughter had a Philly cheese steak sub. It was served with a side of hair.lol positive note the french frys and onion rings were good. We will not be returning.

This is my favorite place to eat, when we get up to Athens this is where we go. We got Traditional wings and French Fries. They are the best and the wings are in my top 5! Love that the French Fries are fresh cut! Service isn't too good in the dining area but it's great at the bar for 2!

The staff was really nice. The traditional wings needed to be crispier but the boneless wings were amazing. The menu had a ton of options for other food besides wings too. Next time I might try one of their pizzas.

Ever since Roosters OSU temporarily closed, we can't find wings that even come close to how perfect theirs is. Shade Athens is just as (if not slightly more) perfect than Roosters OSU!
