Souvlaki's Mediterranean Restaurant

I came all the way from 10 miles away, but the restaurant was closed, even though according to the schedule posted here it should have been open. I assume they’ve shut down for good. Parking is a hassle.

I personally will never go here again, as they have overcharged me, and I've had to correct the wife twice. Last time, I ordered a little gyro and fried ravioli, which shouldn't have been more than $15, and she said $30. I thoroughly believe they take advantage of drunk college students, knowing they won't question the price and will pay whatever. Also, the majority of the food is just cheap frozen appetizers that the husband throws in the fryer.

Food is fresh, I went here today and I am glad I came , I’ve been coming here for years and it is always very good. If you want a good dinner and atmosphere come here.

really overrated, as 'drunk food' tends to be. if you wouldn't eat here sober... there are a lot better places in town.

The food wasn't that great and in my opinion it's a little overpriced.

Amazing food and it’s very quick! But when it says open is at 7:30 and the lights are still off at 7:50 there is an issue!
I’m not from Athens but anytime Im in the area, I try to make a trip here! It’s my go to spot!
Like I said either fix your open hours or be open when you say you’re open! No reason to make people waist gas driving here or waiting for an hour in the car!

Got a beef & lamb gyro and a chicken gyro. Love the food!

I’ve been to souvlakis many times over the past year. The family who runs it are absolute royalty. They’ve recently added broccoli cheddar cheese bites to their menu. I sincerely think they are the greatest thing I’ve ever put in my mouth, and that’s a lot coming from me. This is a very dedicated and wholesome kitchen. Do not hesitate to eat their food when your hungry and they are open.

Ordered a chicken strip basket, bit into the chicken, and it was completely raw in the center. The staff was even surprised when I brought it back to them. Asked for something else instead of the chicken but didn’t get back the fries I paid for! ? +1 star bc the mac bites were stellar.

I miss abu Ahmed and Um Ahmed.. Cant wait to come back to Athens and visit

Amazing food and amazing family run place.They really care about every customer that walks in. Take care of the students that come in in AM hours. Must have when in Athens.Gyros are the best. Fell in love with the fried ravioli

I found some plastic on my fries and food and I spent like 15 bucks on fries and a vegetarian gyro. I dont think is very clean considering what I found in my food and its beyond unsanitary. I do not recommend at all going here, I cant even understand how it comes to have very good reviews. Or go if you wanna pay overpriced food poisoning.

Don't EVER eat here. Years ago, I got a job here and I was so disgusted and appalled with how filthy the restaurant is, and how the owner runs it - I quit that night. I will NEVER forget the owner using a wash cloth to wipe down the tables and the station food is prepared on. If you want to risk a staph infection - eat here.
