9/20/2025 at 12:40 pm I travel the country, see Steak n Shake a lot of places, have never been so first timer. Used drive thru, 3 or 4 vehicles in front of me, took longer than it probably should have, ordered the # 1. Began eating within a minute of being handed the bag, fries and burger were room temperature, not cold but certainly not warm; the Diet Coke was good. First time at one, probably the last time unless there’s no other option within a 30 minute drive

Staff was overworked and fairly rude. After we ordered they put a sign on the door saying the dining room was closed and then locked people inside. That's a fire code issue.

I do not normally leave reviews AND I was a server so I know how hard their jobs are. HOWEVER, when I go through a drive through and am charged $14 for fries and a shake i should not have to go in twice to get everything I was charged for. I asked for two different condiments and was not given one. After seeing that I was charged I went inside and said I needed mayo. The man working said okay and came back with a cup full of garlic spread. When I came back to the car my girlfriend informed me that her nutella shake was not even mixed and had a HAIR in it. That’s when I discovered that they gave me a random sauce. She went back in and addressed the issues, they didn’t do anything about the hair found in her shake and just handed her mayo and basically rushed her out the door. This was an aweful experience and I do not think I will be back.

Ordered a double cheeseburger with bacon, hold the pickle, a fry and coke combo. Burger came without any bacon. They didnt give me a straw for the drink. The most basic tasks they failed. Disappointing.
