We celebrated graduation weekend with a big family group of 14, and the experience was wonderful from start to finish.
Even though the restaurant was very busy, one of our waitresses, Kaylee, went above and beyond. She somehow found seating for all of us to sit together, which made the meal even more special. Kaylee was incredibly friendly, kept our soft drinks full, and made sure we had all the extra condiments we needed. Her attention to detail and kindness really stood out.
As for the food — it was delicious. Everyone’s meal came out at the same time, all served warm and perfectly prepared as ordered. The warm pretzels with cheese were a big hit with everyone, and my burger was flavorful. But the surprise standout? The potato wedges — honestly, some of the best I’ve ever had. They have a spicy ranch to dip them in that was amazing. Thanks for the suggestion from our server!
Overall, this was a perfect spot to celebrate with family — great food, amazing service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I must also mention great drinks from the bar! Huge thanks to Kaylee and the team for making it such a memorable meal!
Season your food
This will forever be my go-to bar when I’m in Athens. This was always my spot when I was in college! Great vibes, sweet drinks, good music, and fun games!
This place is a joke
Good food, good vib, great bartender. What more is wanted.
Had reservations for the Valentine event. Dinners were chosen ahead of time. Upon arrival we were seated near the back door where it was absolutely freezing. I wore my winter coat the entire time. We were served water and drinks immediately. It took about a half an hour to get the appetizer. Bruschetta with a prepared topping. Nothing difficult. We waited in this freezing tundra for over an hour for our dinner to arrive. It was as though they didn’t know we were coming. The food was cold. The dinner consisted of a decent portion of mashed potatoes, 2 slender cooked carrots , 4 maybe 5 shrimp and a steak portion that was sized for a toddler. It was still actively bleeding on the plate. (I was never asked how I liked my steak cooked and I could have prepared this plate in less than 30 minutes at my home) The desert was a basic brownie or a basic sugar cookie. Someone did come to the table to apologize for the wait and the food. His apology consisted of “Some mistakes were made tonight, I’m a cook not an excel sheet expert, my order was wrong.” Then he walked away. The conversation and time out with my partner was fun, in spite of this place. We can laugh and make jokes about it now I guess. I wish they would have communicated better. I would have left , ordered takeout and went home. A romantic Valentines evening at a College bar, nope. lol. I only hope my BF did not pay too much. That was my biggest concern. They did not offer any kind of a discount to him.
I bought my girlfriend a ticket for the valentines day event as I had to work and couldn't take the night off. They did not serve what you would expect from a sports bar. They served creativity and love through food which is what valentines day should be when it comes to your meal on a date night. My girlfriend and her studio arts friend both got the salmon and were more than satisfied as the salmon was cooked perfectly and the green sauce (I'm assuming was maybe pesto) was just absolutely stellar. The plating was beautiful well thought out and not just a mound of stacked food. And the drinks made by the bartender had interesting and pleasing flavor profiles that really did go well with the dishes. The whole night according to my girlfriend was spectacular and i will be attending it next year if they continue dholding it. Thank you pigskin!
I had the brisket on sour dough bread, it was very tender ava delicious.
Pulled pork and tots were great
Really enjoyed our outing at the Pigskin. Excellent burger and tater tots, and I recommend asking for one of the wing sauces for dipping the tots, yum! (But I am a dipper, not everyone is). Great service and atmosphere.

the atmosphere was nice but the food sucked and the server took forever to take our order because she was too busy flirting with the bartender for a good 15 minutes, never checked on us once, and then randomly brought our drink refills 45 minutes in as we were about to leave.

We visited our son at college and kind of expected a dive bar atmosphere, but this place was far from it. The service was great, super friendly staff and the food was excellent. The appetizers were on point, you could tell they were not store bought freezer quality. The burgers were perfect and the house made fries were amazing. Also, their wings could probably win trophies. As an added bonus, the prices were very reasonable. You’d spend more for less at a chain restaurant. This place is a must if you’re in Athens.

We went for dinner during Brew Week. Our hamburgers were fantastic. So we're the chips. The place needs some sprucing up. I would definitely go back.
