My wife went to school at Ohio University... and we were in town with 5 other friends for four days enjoying the local roads (on our motorcycles) and enjoying the town every afternoon and evening. Tony's was our absolute favorite. A very welcoming local bar with great bartenders and great drink choices at great prices. We spent a lot of time there over the four days and played a lot of darts while we were at it.

Definitely going to be repeat customers!
We were told by other locals to get a hot shot at Tony's. We were in Athens visiting from Wisconsin.
The hot shot was good, ice cold beers. It was a Friday late afternoon, and it was a bit crowded. I'm not sure if this is a LGBTQ bar or not, but the rainbow flag was flying and the patrons were all celebrating Pride month. So....if that isn't your thing, don't go. It was a bit of a shock for my conservative spouse?. We didn't mind it, but...
The atmosphere is friendly. The bartenders are nice and the other patrons usually are too. I did go in the summer months though, so they were mostly townies. The drinks are a good price and they have a great selection of spirits. They have live music sometimes that's usually very good.

Parking: The best bet for parking here are the meters across the street by Casa. It was free all the times I went, but it's not always like that.
