Buckeye Chocolate Café Bainbridge

The very strong smell of garlic permeated the entire place, even outside where I drove my car around the building to park. Billed as a chocolate and coffee place, one typically might expect the aroma of coffee and chocolate. The place serves some food like sandwiches, salads, hummus and pastries. When we asked about the piercing garlic smell, we were told they ‘make other food’ not just chocolate and pastries and coffee. But that didn’t explain the need for all the garlic! It was just so unappetizing because the garlic cooking was so strong, we felt like It was all over our clothes. While I was there for a meeting (we didn’t have time to go somewhere else) and we were there for about 45 minutes and had planned to leave shortly, we were a bit put off by the staff telling us as well as other guests they were closing in five minutes. Didn’t feel the love, let’s put it that way.

Seating inside can be a little awkward if you're not at the big table with a group, but it works well enough.
Staff is always friendly, and the coffee is good- and creative! Loving the seasonal flavors.

We stopped into Buckeye Chocolate Café in Bainbridge and were seriously impressed! This modern, chic café has it all — freshly made coffee creations, incredible house chocolates, and a full all-day breakfast and lunch menu that makes it hard to choose just one thing.

It’s also super convenient with a drive-thru, so whether you’re grabbing coffee on the go or settling in, you’re covered. Inside, there’s plenty of seating and a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for catching up with friends or getting a little work done.

Here’s what we tried:
🍊 Orange Creamsicle Matcha – a fun, refreshing seasonal drink that’s both creamy and bright.
🍓 Strawberry Matcha – sweet, smooth, and perfectly balanced.
🌯 Breakfast Burrito – hearty and satisfying with great flavor.
🥑 Arugula Lemon Avocado Toast – fresh, zesty, and beautifully presented.

Everything tasted amazing, the staff was friendly, and the vibe was just right. Whether you’re stopping by for coffee, brunch, or dessert, this spot is an absolute gem. We’ll definitely be back for the chocolates in the near future 😊

Awful service, the slowest I’ve ever experienced. They do not work their drive thru at all. Typical average wait is 15+ minutes even when it’s dead. Inside service isn’t much quicker. I waited 10 minutes for a latte last week when there were only 2 other people waiting for orders.

I was at the Geauga County Fair This Wknd and saw your stand. Was getting Cinnamon Pecans and then I saw these Big Turtle Patties I think they were called? They also had them in Dark Chocolate, which are difficult to find. So I bought 3 turtles and a bag of cinnamon pecans. The Turtles Are so fresh and delicious. Today is Fri and I bought these on Sunday. The Cinnamon Pecans are so fresh and lots of cinnamon and Not hard. I wish I bought another Bag. Lol

First time here. They have chocolates and some pastries. We tried a pastry which was delicious, a chocolate covered pretzel, yummy! And got a couple of coffees which were good. We also got our son an Italian soda which was super good! I regretted getting myself a coffee after I tasted his soda! Yummy place.

I've tried to come here twice in the last week and have had to pull away from the drive through as I'm a service worker and can't waste 20 minutes waiting for a coffee. No idea how the coffee is here, might be good. I'll never know!
