It's too bad that a one time really good establishment can fall into such disgrace. There was a time (no so long ago) I'd of given 5 stars. It is only out of remembrance of those days I give 2 stars & not one or zero... It was perhaps last fall or the end of summer my wife & I went in expecting the always enjoyable atmosfear & deliciousness of past visits. But no. Not this time. The food wasn't so great, drinks were smh & service lacking respect. None to say. > We said to each other as we left...This place hasn't much longer. This place is about dead. It doesn't have another year if that....

Disclaimer: This experience was a few years prior to the restaurant's shutdown. Given this experience, I have no surprise this location is now closed and I have a pleasant smile as I write this.I found myself reminiscing over people/places/things back when I still lived in Ohio. Recently, I was curious to see what happened to some acquaintances and places from my past and where they are now. I used to know one of the cooks who worked in the kitchen here who told me they were short a person one night and offered me a chance to make a little cash and potentially another part time job if I did well busing tables. In hindsight, there were a number of red flags from the start would have told today's me that this not only wasn't a sure gig moving forward, but that I'd of been better off doing a 180 right back out the front door on arrival. No uniform, no questions asked, no job/expectations breakdown, no real conversation of any kind, I wasn't really sure who I was actually supposed to report to until the end of the night.I ended up "wasting" about 6 or more hours of my night there cleaning up neglected portions of their kitchen, mini bar/liquor display, and other unprompted tasks between busing the occasional table that came in and finished eating. Overall, it was a rather uneventful (Boring even) evening right up until they closed the lobby and shut down the kitchen. I was told to meet the shift manager in the office when my tasks (Whatever they actually were) were completed, to which I was met by a young lady who gave me $9 and some vague, short winded explanation of my performance and how pay was distributed.Basically, I didn't get a working wage and my pay was a % of the accumulated tips for the evening that was split unevenly among the different workers, the lion's share of which going to the cooks, then the servers/kitchen staff, then....you guessed it, me. All of whom were also on the payroll getting a working wage on top of their percentage of the tips. She did invite me to come back the following day to work another shift, but I had to work my current job at the time which, among other things, actually paid me a livable wage. Even my old self could see this place had no real future, short or long term with the state of the kitchen and how things were being run there. I neglected to ask my old acquaintance how many other people were tricked into working a shift here and being paid pennies on the dollar under the table like that as I broke off relations with him a short time after he invited me to do this gig.As with this restaurant, his story was similarly bitter sweet to learn. Suffice to say, karma's a @!%&#.

I would not recommend these ribs to anyone. They are the worst I have ever smelled and tasted. I gave it one star and that was one star too many. I wasted almost $200 on these ribs. Don’t waste your money.

It's closure was long overdue. Al bubba Bakert is a nice man. His manager / daughter not so much. Ribs were chewy and service disorganized as previous post stated.

Excellent environment and super affable service. The meals were crisp and yummy. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. Convenient prices and big portions. Great job.

Ribs excellent sauce and mouth feel. They have boneless ribs but I prefer the bone in. Yes, I'm a bone marrow connoisseur.

Poor service, food and very disorganized. Overpriced

This place is surely one of the tastiest restaurants in the neighborhood. Whenever I come to this place I am greatly glad. They maintain their very high level service and the highest level of dishes they offer. You always win with this place. Highly recommended.

I have heard this great restaurant closed. Please tell me it isn't so! They had some of the best food, friendly family owners, and a legend in Al "Bubba" Baker as owner.

On October 3rd, a group that I belong to, was supposed to have lunch at Bubba’s Q at 12:30. The head of the group called & talked to the restaurant to make sure we had one table & everything was set. The restaurant assured her it was okay. To our surprise as we arrived, there was a sign on the the door saying that they were remodeling & were not open. Now you would think that the day before they are closing to remodel, they would know that. Will not bother going there at all.
