I agree with a few other people. Prices have doubled since new ownership and the pizza is very different. It's a shame definitely won't be back.
I have been going to Tomaso’s since I was born (30+ years ago), it was always my favorite pizza, even when I moved away for a while I had to have it as soon as I came back.
I was so sad when I heard they were closing but hopeful when I heard things would be staying the same. I gave them the benefit of the doubt last Friday and went for dinner with my son.
It was 7pm on a Friday and the place was entirely empty, only us and one other person sitting at the bar, one person came in to pick up an to go order. The renovations make it feel so cold and unwelcoming now and it was eerily quiet! I honestly missed the hanging grape vines and string lights.
The prices have definitely gone up, we used to be able to get a party (16”) cheese pizza, 2 side salads, 2 drinks and an order of breadsticks for right around $25. This time we got one salad, a large (12”) cheese pizza and one drink for $23.
I found their menu to be confusing since there is an entirely different name on the top, also limited. $15 for a meatball sub with chips is a bit insane and their dinner prices are pretty steep as well. The pizzas would quickly add up with different toppings.
Service was still not great, only one waitress and still slow, however the food came out fast and hot.
The pizza was not terrible, but not great, although it did look and smell the same. The dough was the same, the cheese was the same, however I honestly thought there was too much cheese, the sauce however, was not the same, the flavor was just not there, and that is what made Tomaso’s pizza so good.
Would I give them another try, yes, if they survive.

My family and I have been going here for years! We were so happy to hear that it wasn’t going to close and instead get new owners. I was under the impression everything would be the same. So far Definitely some bumps for the new owners. Way too much cheese, so much rosemary it made our stomachs upset, the sauce is completely different, the crust was not thin, pizza was very wonky looking, and they have made the pizzas smaller but kept the prices the same but for a lower quality. I know it will be different and not the exact same but it’s definitely upsetting. This was my favorite place for years and we knew the family pretty well. Very upset about it hope the can fix it before to many people start leaving. The inside looks better and I appreciate the repairs but I’d rather have the good food.

Place lacks cleanliness. Server was really nice. Food was THE WORST. Way overpriced. Just disgusting. Do not recommend.

I went in with a group of family today, most of us liked our food some didn't, we got squished into a small room by the door. It was pretty hot and cramped but doable. The waitress was slow to refill drinks and bring table settings like spices and parmasean and extra plates. She gave my 4 year old a large glass cup filled to the brim. Which is on me I should have brought her own cup. We all had to eat at separate times. Then she mixed up the checks and couldn't fix it. We had to work it out ourselves. The food was good depending on what you get. Overall I wouldn't go back but it could have been worse.

Not what it used to be. I warned a friend and he still ordered a personal pizza from them and it literally looks and tastes like gas station pizza.

We’re always looking for good Italian in the area and tried Tomaso’s for the first time today. Sad to say that we will not be back. I want to start on a positive note and say that the 2 servers there were great!! They were so sweet and engaged my 1.5 year old son.
Now for the negatives. The food was absolutely not worth the price. I got the chicken linguine Alfredo for $23 and it was probably worth $10. The sauce was lacking flavor but my biggest complaint is the chicken. I am 90% sure they used canned chunks of chicken. I would be shocked to find out other wise. My husband got a pizza and it was just so-so. My son’s ravioli was decent.
Like I said our servers were great but I can’t say the same for the kitchen staff. Our server made a simple mistake and with inputting toppings on our pizza (she was super apologetic and we were fine waiting for it to be fixed) but the kitchen gave her a hard time and even considered having her pay for it! You could tell they were just mean. Unfortunately we could hear everything.

Food was ok for the most part, nothing to write home about. Server was very nice, atmosphere was ok. There were a few carpenter ants but to me that isn't a huge deal, the place is made of wood in a swamp area so that is the nature of it all ☺ the Bianco pizza was not our favorite

My husband and I have been going to Tomaso's for many years and we were happy that someone was purchasing the restaurant rather than it just being closed permanently. We were told the food would be the same, same recipes and quality etc. We ordered food for Pick Up yesterday and sadly it was not at all the same. My pizza tasted like one of those premade pop in the oven pizzas you can buy at Sam's Club. The sauce did not taste the same and the cheese was way too thick and completely tasted different overall. There were six of us eating and we had all frequented Tomaso's for many years. Not one of us thought it tasted the same at all. It's a shame that someone would buy the restaurant and not continue with the food recipe or quality. I know food costs are expensive but it's more expensive to lose your clientele. Was it edible? Sure. But for these prices it better taste the same. We had high hopes but this was sad and disappointing.

Been ordering from here my whole life, it's no longer the same. Hope the new owners plan to change the name, because under the "Tomaso's" name sake, it's a lie. Dough is different, like that of a gas station pizza quality, and the signature sauce - this is not it. Unfortunately we won't be returning unless there is a campaign, and return, to the original family recipes. So very disappointed.

Such a disappointment. I spent my childhood eating here, but moved out of town and don’t get it often. Now under new ownership, the prices have almost doubled and the pizza is terrible. When we called to confirm if the menu had changed much we were told it was the same food. It’s absolutely not! Took 35 minutes for carry out and somehow the pizza was undercooked. The sausage was definitely not the same and something had a green pepper flavor. I had a sausage and pepperoni pizza. This pizza at these prices will never last in Barberton. Such a sad situation.

My boyfriend has been coming here since he was a kid, and we had gone there pretty regularly, however it had been a minute until tonight. We always get a pizza with pepperoni and sausage and salad, the prices are CRAZY now and the sausage was like the sausage you’d get off a frozen pizza, I was really disappointed I loved there pizza… the new owners are improving the inside however I’d prefer the grape vines and the good sausage??♀️
