We have considered HO WAH our go to neighborhood Chinese restaurant for many years. The food is very fresh and the servers are extremely efficient. We’ve seen the prices shooting up over the last few years but where haven’t they. The portions are generous and we usually take home leftovers. The two brothers own the Chinese restaurants (3) and they work hard to see to it that everything is right on the money. We highly recommend HO WAH to any one who is interested in having great Chinese food.

Just left Hoa’s half hour ago spent $52 eggroll was OK had the chicken lo mein, which was the worst I’ve ever had in my entire life eating Chinese food. It was all crap. Ola had a whole plate full of it. Two little pieces of chicken and no veggies and the noodles were tasteless. It was garbage even with the soy sauce, it was still garbage. I’m throwing everything out right now. Had the fried rice which is very bland. Also, the lady on the phone told me I have to order it separate but there it was a small container of fried rice which all I needed, but I was forced to order a big container another 15 $17 because she don’t know how it works and that was crappy bland also! Tried my wife’s pork for Young, which was very decent not bad at all very good and that’s about it. Unless my wife loves it I will never ever ever go back there again.
I’ve never had a bad experience! Whether take out or dine in! Very attentive staff!

This is my family's favorite restaurant. We love dining in here on special occasions. I took my son and his wife here for dinner. She got Shrimp Lo Mein. My son got Curry dish. I had Kung Pao Chicken. I took some home for later. They serve generous portions. No one leaves hungry. They have a busy take out business.
It's local, clean, good food, easy parking. Clean restrooms. Ice cream and coffee shops nearby. I will be back soon!!!

Chinese restaurants are judged on the aromas that escape through the doors! You can tell from the time you step foot in here that there is some great food. Prompt service, food came out extremely fast!

Came here after finding the local benihana severely understaffed and cheesecake factory full. Got seated immediately with no wait. Usual vegetarian options you’d expect at a Chinese restaurant. Portions slightly smaller. Food came extremely quickly.

The restaurant’s atmosphere has not changed since it opened many years ago except for more take out and not enough space for people waiting. Our waitress barely spoke English and was intent in trying to change our order to a more expensive one. FOOD, we ordered shrimp lo mein. It was cold when it arrived, the wrong noodles, the carrots unpeeled, and the shrimp were not completely deveined. Once she delivered our food she never checked back.
Good atmosphere

I was at Ho Wahs, Sunday, September 21, 2025 in the early evening. I have eaten at Ho Wahs numerous times and enjoyed my meal. Unfortunately, not the case this past Sunday my soup, egg rolls, fried rice and crab rangoo, not good. The egg rolls didn't taste fresh, fried rice overcooked and very sticky, Won ton soup noodles were mushy not firm as usual. The crab rangoo was okay but small amounts inside and not as favorable. I can truly say as a long time customer over the years and very cognitive of the quality of my previous food experience, including take out orders, this experience was very disappointing. Even though ordering several appetizers instead of a full meal from the menu my expectations is for my food to be fresh and favorable. My food came out piece by piece. I should have spoken up starting with the egg rolls(2) being hard and didn't taste fresh, followed by the mushy soup noodles, however, I didn't. The price of the individual appetizers added up to the cost of a full meal, so the meal itself wasn't inexpensive. I ate very little of my meal and ended up packing it up to go.The last time patronizing Ho Wahs was about five months ago. I told the person accompanying me, I won't return. When you select a place to eat as a customer you want your food to be fresh and good without the stress and hassle of sending food back to the kitchen and being uncomfortable doing so. Quality and taste is definitely not the same at Ho Wahs.

Excellent in all respects. I wish we had a Chinese restaurant of this caliber in Lake County. Ho Wan has been in this location since 80s. I had shrimp with lobster sauce- suburb. It contained a generous portion of large shrimp. Their order of pork fried rice contained egg, scallions, bean sprouts and was delicious. For us, it is worth the 30 minute drive! My companions had chicken egg rolls, chicken fried rice and orange chicken which they very much enjoyed

Hands down the best Chinese spot in town! I've been coming here since I was a kid, and it still hits the spot every time. The egg rolls are perfection - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. But the real star of the show is the won ton soup - it's out of this world! The broth is rich and savory, and the won tons are cooked to perfection. I mean it when I say it's the best won ton on the planet. The quality of the ingredients is always top-notch, and you can tell the chefs are passionate about what they do. Perfect for take out or date night out with family & friends the ambiance is quite perfect. If you're a fan of authentic, delicious Chinese food, look no further. 5 stars isn't enough - I'd give it 10 if I could!
