Since the opening, The Pike 40 has been our go to once or twice a week and during the summer, we never miss a Pike Idol. I do not know what happened between my last visit a couple weeks ago until today, but I can say I will not be back unless someone tells me things change. There is a picture today on the FB page of the adult Mac and Cheese with pulled porkâŠalways my favorite. It was terrible. Clumpy or strange texture of cheese that was always creamy. Pork that was so dry I couldnât eat it and so smokey! Apparently it is now being made in a smoker. My daughter tried to have lettuce added to a burger and was told no, that you couldnât add lettuce to a smash burger. What?! Then when we got our bill the prices were higher than what was on the menu. When we asked we were told that they are automatically adding 3% because they have a credit card charge and if you pay with cash you would get that back. Maybe that should be listed somewhere or told upfront. The only thing that made this visit worth it was getting to see the wait staff who despite all the complications were smiling, working hard and always a pleasure to see. Do better and donât change things that arenât broken!!
This restaurant used to be one of my favorite in the area. Pre-Covid I used to frequent this establishment 2 to 3 times a week. The food and service was excellent. One server in particular, Megan was one of my favorite servers, truth is I never had poor service from any of the servers, until recently. I stopped there approximately 3 PM on either 12/4 or 12/5 2024.. there were two servers that I saw behind the counter. Both had dark hair, one wore glasses and seemed to have some sort of accent. The dining room was empty, except for myself, and there were a several people sitting in the bar area, definitely not busy at this time. I sat there for approximately 10 minutes being ignored. I have no doubt they both saw me, I was seated at a 2 chair table at the front of the dining area..the server that wore glasses with the accent started to make a phone call and she walked out into the foyer area where the entrance is. I sat there several more minutes and decided Iâve had enough. As I was leaving, I saw that particular server sitting in the entrance area talking on her phone. I have never had such a terrible experience in this restaurant. The food is always excellent. I have no complaints about that. I do not think I will be going back anytime soon nor will I any longer recommend this restaurant.

I picked up a To Go order tonight on my way back to Wheeling. The food was delicious. My husband and I both had the pulled pork sandwich and our children had cheeseburgers. I also got a side of French fries with gravy on the side. The only thing that could've been better would be if the fries were more crispy. But it was still delicious.

Our server ask us how our food was. It was all Lukewarm but tasty would have been our answer-if asked. So we have been here before several times and understand how difficult food service was during COVID and we understood at the time when our food was not what we would like it to be. Maybe we are too picky but itâs happened too many times and we decided we will not return. Wishing this business success in the future as we do not state these disappointments for harm.

First time eating here. Heard good things about this place so decided to try it out. I had the chicken tenders and an order of fries. Hubby had the Jet burger. The chicken was cooked perfectly. I didn't care for the fries but I like mine crispy. But my husband's burger was cooked exactly how he wanted it and he likes the fries. We'll be back again. Also, we sat at the bar and had excellent service.
Had 0 intentions of eating so much! Lol but our waitress was so polite and attentive and informative and it was pretty busy. Pretty much whatever she was selling we were buying. We had burgers, fries and a appetizer. Finished with a great piece of strawberry đ cake that the 3 of us shared and it was plenty! Weâve always had good service but this time it was great! đ€© Itâs refreshing when people seem to enjoy their job. Thank you Amanda! đ€©

Pike 40 was our go to restaurant for the past year, we were weekly regulars. After today we will no longer be returning back. Half of the menu has been taken away, including our favorite the brunch menu. The restaurant has lettuce and would not let my fiancĂ© add lettuce to his chicken wrap (which always included lettuce!) the only good experience we had today was our bartender Amanda. Sheâs always so kind and amazing service! The cooks however are very rude and loud, we could hear them talking so poorly about individuals in the restaurant as they prepare food. Such a shame to have another locally owned restaurant downward spiral.

Steak on menu stated bold seasoning on steak. NO SEASONING what so ever. Couldnât even stomach the steak. It was awful!!! FiancĂ© ordered a salad. It came AFTER dinner. Waitress claimed they JUST made it. Salad was room temperature. Would NOT recommend! Will not be coming back.
