Was craving rice and peas when I drove past this place unexpectedly in Berea so of course I had to stop. Fortunately there were great vegetarian options. I had the rice and peas, curry vegetables w/ veggie chunks (soya/TVP) and plantains. It was heavenly. Just the right about of heat to give it flavor and perfect portion size. Plus, the staff was super-nice. Would definitely recommend!

Drive 40 minutes to try the closest Jamaican cuisine place that’s was near me. Although the staff was friendly, establishment was clean including the restroom, I was so DISAPPOINTED. I Ordered the LARGE oxtails platter with cabbage and no plantains. FIRST OFF, the platter was not of large size. Opened it and there was less than a scoop of cabbage. For the size it was the two slots for sides should’ve both been filled with cabbage, that wasn’t seasoned. Very bland. No peas either(or high didn’t matter). The oxtails could’ve been more tender. I only ate it bc I wasn’t wasting it after traveling that far. Won’t be back.

If I could have given no stars I would. This place is not good I paid $34 for fish cabbage and fried green tomatoes. The cabbage was ok but everything else was not good the fish had no seasoning and I mean none. I’m a little bummed out I never had Jamaican food that had no flavor. So I won’t be back and if u like real Jamaican DONT EAT HERE! I threw mine in the trash and got something else that’s how not good it was

That brown stew chicken was EVERYTHING. And my man loved his red snapper. Y'all was out of the stew beef, but I'm coming back for it. Great food fresh looking and tasting, and great plate presentation.

Deep smoke flavor to the bone, authentic Jamaican Jerk flavor. Highly recommended to anyone that likes Jamaican food, spicy bbq, or enjoys trying new things.
First time eating a Jamaican dish and I’m not disappointed. Got in and out in less than 5mins, food was absolutely delicious, restaurant was clean and the environment was serene. Will definitely visit this place more often.
Enjoyed my first time here at a Jamaican Restaurant. Gar and Mar did not disappoint. In fact they exceeded my expectations. The oxtails and jerk chicken were phenomenal. I look forward to coming back.Kid-friendliness: Our waitress was fabulous. Hope to see her again.

Great vibe! Authentic menu. Food was very good. Festival, coco bread, everything was fresh and hot. Would love to have tried Jerk Chicken white meat, but only dark meat is avail.. that’s my only recommendation for improvement. Tried the wings, and they were tasty. Will definitely be back!
