Today I stopped into Gold Star Chili in Mt. Orab on my way to a roof repair with one of my employees. We were immediately greeted by Angela, the manager on duty, who made us feel right at home.

We already knew what we wanted — two cheese coneys for me, and a regular 3-way for him. How can you go wrong with a Cincinnati classic? The food came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The restaurant itself was spotless, and the atmosphere was welcoming.

Big shoutout to Angela and her crew for the great service, great food, and genuine hospitality. This is exactly how every Gold Star should be run. Keep up the great work!”

“They definitely put cheese on my no-cheese order, but hey got everything else right and they were very friendly, in spite of being quite busy and understaffed. The tables were clean and the drink station was well stocked. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.”

“I had car issues on Route 32 and had to push my vehicle off the highway into the Country Inn parking lot. After waiting for a few hours for the tow truck, I went inside to warm up. The staff was incredibly kind and even allowed me to stay after closing while I continued waiting for AAA. Their hospitality was truly above and beyond. “I've never had a meal that I don't like here. The food is great always hot and fresh. I love their homemade cole slaw. The ribs are mouth watering literally just fall off the bone. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The decor is cute reminds me of a mom and pop shop which makes me want to come in more and support their business. “We go to Los Compadres all the time and would 100% recommend it to locals and out-of-towners alike. Our usual order is tacos (carne asada or pastor), Mexican guacamole, quesadillas, or the fajita salad. Margaritas are always on point and even their small is a good pour. Chips and salsa come right to the table and the service is quick, friendly, and welcoming for families. And the horchata is AMAZING. Truly top tier. In my opinion, this is the best and most authentic Mexican food in southern Ohio, which says a lot since I was born and raised in Los Angeles. 🌮🍹💛”
