I have eaten here before when I visited my daughter at BGSU. This time we took our order as take-out. The chicken tenders were sweet and rubbery. The french fries were also sweet. I wound up feeling nauseated and had abdominal distress the rest of the night.
Picked this place because of the reviews and sat outside in the patio area. I wasn’t that impressed with the food, and the service was average. The atmosphere may be a little better if you have drinks, but the water and the diet drink both tasted terrible.
Came in about 8pm. Weston was an amazing server. Very kind and checked on us frequently. Thank you for the kindness and amazing service. Definitely requesting this server every time. Now for the food. The drinks were amazing and the bartender was even kind enough to give me a drink recommendation that I enjoyed. The food was delicious. Definitely recommend the fish and chips. Their house tartar sauce was delicious and the house thousand island for my salad had a tiny bit of kick to it that I found enjoyable. The only thing i could critique is that the house chips were a bit darker than I like them. The business was clean and the bathroom well stocked and maintained. Would definitely recommend this place to those who want to eat or just get a few drinks. Very nice music selection and nice and quite. Well lit but also nice and dim at the same time.
We stopped in here for brunch because it had good reviews. Well I ordered Fish an Chips. It was good (what I got to eat of it). Hubby ordered the Shepard Pie on the waitress recommendation. He started eating it and said it was nothing but peas. Well since he is picky I offered to trade dinners. He liked the fish. I ate the Shepard pie but should have sent it back. It was at least a can of peas with maybe a tablespoon of ground (so fine I could hardly find any) beef with a very thin layer of mashed potatoes an cheese on top. I had to look to see if there was any potatoes it looked like just melted cheese. I did tell the waitress it was almost all peas. I ate what I could an left 3/4 c of peas in the dish. Service was very good.
This place had some great food. The apple cider chicken, I think is what it was called, was delicious. Their bread rolls were great as well. We also had the scotch eggs and they were great. Food was obviously good and the service was good as well. Friendly and accommodating. They were a little slow at times, but we had a pretty big group. I'd definitely go back. It is on the pricier side, but worth it, in my opinion.
Parking: There is a parking lot around the restaurant, but doesn't have many spaces. There are more spots in a close lot but it's like a one way lot where you have to enter the right way, so you may end up a bit further from the restaurant.
This place was soo slow it took hours for our food which were mainly sandwiches and fries. There were not busy. The waitress was clueless if we spoke to her she wouldn’t respond and would just turn and walk away even when just asking for ketchup. They couldn’t bring all of us drinks because they didn’t have any clean glasses. Once we received our food they also had no clean utensils to eat with. We asked for at least some napkins and the waitress grabbed a few drink napkins and dropped them on the table and walked away. The food was cold and utterly DISGUSTING. I can say this was the worst place we have ever ate at.
We ate here 3 years ago and wasn't impressed. We tried it again this past Friday. We loved the food, drinks, staff and atmosphere. They had live music playing and we ended up staying for drinks for a few hours and listening to the band.
We have loved dining at the Stone's Throw ever since we moved to the area 5 years ago! The food and friendly atmosphere are consistently excellent, and having traveled to Ireland ourselves it brings back great memories as well.
Great food and excellent staff experience. Also, they serve a decent selection of craft beer.
This place has potential but is overpriced and understaffed. Last time I was there the kitchen door was squeaking louder than the music. The staff tries hard and is nice but overall it’s always a frustrating experience.

The food and beer were fine.It is however the service that I was very concerned about. It was fine service overall but at the end of my meal I asked if I could have a beer to go. This place offers that service through howlers and growlers. My waitress however brought me back a beer in an open plastic cup and said "here's your to go beer". I told her that I cannot drive with an open beer in my car and I do not want to drink it here I want it to go home with me. She then said "you can go across the street to Circle K and get a cup there".I opted to finish the beer and leave rather than arguing. However, having told people about this strange experience, I learned this isn't the only time this has happened and felt I needed to review.Edit: having seen the owner's reply I've decided to increase the review rating. While I understand that your restaurant is in that outdoor area that allows people to walk around with their beer, I specifically said to her that I wanted to take the beer home with me and that I can't drive with an open beer.I am willing to attribute this to a misunderstanding and hope the issue is resolved. Thank you for your time.
A bit more expensive than the typical BG bar, but okay. A bit of fake Welsh, Scots, Irish. Decent beer, and the pasties are okay.
It seems the menu is considerably smaller since COVID. There are very few things on teh menu I can even eat. There is definitely nothing is you are looking to eat healthy or low calorie. Not really much for vegetarian or vegan either. If you are looking for basic bar food and drinks, Stone's Throw is great. But as a dinner spot, it isn't a place I ever chose.
After waiting an hour to get our salad that we asked for twice, the waitress tells us that our order hasn’t even been put in yet. At no point during our time there did she say it would be a longer wait. It wasn’t even crowded. This is NOT the place to unless you have an unlimited amount of time to wait and you’re not hungry. I wouldn’t even give it one star but i had to in order to write a review.
Really good food, from the appetizers to the main course. Loaded pub fries as the appetizer & the cod dinner as the main course. Drinks were pretty darn good too, I highly recommend
