Had a stopped up toilet and reported it at 5:30 am.Asked for a plunger didn't get one. At4:00pm when I returned it was still stopped up and no maid service.Said they had WiFi but I couldn't get it in my room. They did end up giving me another roof, but still no wifi. I won't be staying there again.
Good room for the price.
Red roof just took over this motel and are just starting the remodeling of it. Rooms were clean but the shower is slippery so be careful. Everyone was very nice who worked there. It's a great motel to stay in if you have pets. We were there because it was closed to salt fork park. A must park to go to. I know in 6 months from now red roof will be remodel . Red roofs are awesome if you are traveling.
I was on the bubble on giving a 3 or 4 star review on this one.
This Red Roof Inn was an older hotel that was purchased and redone.
The sleeping area was very new.... new laminate flooring, cabinetry for the refrigerator and microwave, and desk.
While it felt a little dark, it did have plenty of lights, each with both an outlet and USB ports (really liked thst they had those next to both sides of the bed)
The bed linens were crisp and white, and overall, the main sleeping areas were very clean.
The bathroom was clean, but it felt like they didn't touch anything there during the renovations. The sink and tub had no stoppers, and they had timescale around them (as well as the shower head).
The towels were yellowish, small, and not soft at all.
Overall, it felt like they renovated the room, but it felt like they had cut some corners.
All in all, and for the lower cost (in comparison to other, higher end hotels), it was sufficient for a quick overnight stop while traveling.
Walked in around 4am, there was somebody sleeping on the floor in the office. Weird.
Room smelled like mold from the second i walked in. Kicked on the heat and found out the source. Smell started out from it. To cap off the night, I was awakened by a fly that kept landing on me.
Inside is poorly taken care of from the hallway to the room. Cleaning at the bare minimum and you see dust in crevices in the hallways. Looks abandoned actually. I didn’t even feel comfortable taking a shower. i just left. Idk how this got 4 star reviews.

The tiki lounge was not open on a Friday night- I have been stopping for gas across the street from this place on regular road trips for a decade and have always been curious. Decided to break up this year’s trip with an overnight in Cambridge mostly to check this place out.
After reading the hotel reviews we decided to stay across the street but wanted to enjoy the tiki bar- no luck… had to get some beer and weird sheetz sandwiches for our entertainment tonight
Seems like they could add a “closed” sign to the giant “tiki lounge” sign. Would’ve loved a corpse reviver after driving through the snow
Walkability: Not really unless you parked at ruby tuesdays
Food and drinks: Tiki lounge was closed

Too pricey with no accommodations
Both our rooms were dirty and the showers and sinks put out dirty water. First bed had dirty sheets, second bed had bed bugs. Advertised tiki lounge performer left with no words and was told to be there a) before the bar opened and b) at 5:00 when the bar was empty until right about 8 when about twenty people showed up who looked like they drank there a lot as they all knew each other.

I stayed 1 night on 10/19/2024 and was pleasantly surprised. The price was fair at @$62.50 out the door when booked through Expedia. It's about $20 more expensive if you book through the front-desk, so go through a booking agency.
I was initially put into a room (122) with a non-working TV. The gentleman working the desk (Kris) verified the problem did in fact exist and moved me to a different room (128). I looked under the mattresses for both rooms and noted NO bedbugs. Water was hot right-away, HVAC worked perfectly in each, and overall both rooms were clean. The Tiki bar was closed and the front-desk said it wouldn't open for a couple of weeks. No big-deal for me, but you may want to call and ask its status if desired.
The only issues people may a problem with: There was light mold around a small portion of the bathtub grout in each room. Also, (not the motels fault), the neighborhood isn't very nice. I got to listen to a couple screaming at each other from 0330-0530 the next morning. Even so, I plan to stay again.
Safety: Outside rear/side doors require magnetic key access to enter. Good thing as many places don't.
Food and drinks: There's a McDonald sharing the parking lot and a Denny's across the street (no cross-walk, run fast).

Not the most up to date but clean. Nice staff. Well stocked bar. Within walking distance for decent food.
Walkability: A few restaurants you can walk to.
Food and drinks: Tikki bar was fun

If you ever need a place to stay OR find yourself tired and weary while driving through.... Do yourselves a favor and stay at Southgate Hotel in Cambridge, Ohio. THIS IS A GREAT, CLEAN, FRIENDLY AND JUST OVERALL AMAZING ATMOSPHERE!! Every single staff member is more than willing to help with ANY AND ALL FIRST NEEDS and each one reply are so very kind with smiles on ALWAYS. If you do stop in, make sure you step into the Tiki Lounge and give Miss Carla a holler, or have a drink, a bite to eat and Miss Carla will SURELY make you feel welcome; just like you were in your own hometown!! BUT PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY.... DON'T FORGET TO TIP HER! I will be 42 years young this Autumn, I moved to the area from Indianapolis when I was just 7 years old, & I would be A LIAR if I told y'all that I had stayed at the Southgate Hotel even ONCE during those 35 years of living here. Yet here I am.... And I'm SUPER IMPRESSED. HECK, I WASN'T EVEN AWARE, THAT THERE'S AN OUTDOOR, IN GROUND, POOL HERE EITHER! 🤦🏻♀️😅🤷🏻♀️ GLAD WE STOPPED HERE AT 2am this morning!

This hotel was absolutely horrible so dirty. Our first room was filthy so we asked for a second, the 2nd was still filthy. Handprints on the wall, foot prints, dirty towels. The front desk workers are just plain out stupid .
