Excellent place in town for ice cream, and a great place to take a break while traversing the Towpath Trail!

The black cherry ice cream this year is excellent (2025)!

Love the ice cream here. It was great. The heat melted it, so we had to eat it fast.
I got the peanut butter Oreo on a cone. It was a hit, but I heard the shake is better. I'll order that next time.

Nothing beats this.

I've only been there once, but the vanilla malt was one of the best I've had. The large is huge, but it's so good it's hard to stop drinking it, so think twice about what size you order. Service was good, atmosphere was nice, parking is a bit tight up front.

Northwest Junior Baseball & Softball League

Thank you for sponsoring northwest youth baseball and softball! Can’t wait to enjoy some ice cream after the games this season!

I love this place. If only they were open all year, and for some, they could take more than cash. I enjoy trying all the weekly flavors all summer. Miss them in the cool weather, but strive for them in the warm.

Dietary restrictions: There are non-dairy options.

I had the distinct pleasure of having the opportunity to work Cherry Street Creamery when I was in high school. She (the owner, Lea) was always kind and kept high standards for her business that definitely in no small part aids in her staying power. She is wickedly funny, quick-witted, and was a great person to work for. When I reflect on my time there I am filled with positive memories.

Taking a trip down to the towpath with friends new and old is well worth the short trip from Jackson Twp for their signature treat, chocolate almond kustard. If you aren't in-the-know about what's-what in the dessert world, kustard is similar in most ways to what you think of as soft-serve only hand-scooped. The kustard, which comes in one of 4 flavors, is made in-house, batch by batch, in a old-school style machine, carefully adding often unique and always delicious flavors to serve as the rotating flavor of the week. I check their facebook every year and mark my calendar for pistacho week! 😋 In addition to the flavor of the week, there should always be vanilla, chocolate, and chocolate almond available.

Protip✅️ Once the kustard is set, it becomes ice cream. The over-production of the fresh kustard gets hard frozen and is then available on sale in pint containers til gone. Going the week or a few days after the flavor of the week switches, you stand the chance to luck into some really, really good product for cheap.

If you are expecting a swirly poop-emoji machine-formed curling spiral from Dairy Queen, this isn't the place for you. All the sundaes and most of the specialty items are made using the fresh kustard, which again, is hand-scooped. While most of the flavors are homemade, there are a handful of crowd pleasers and unique flavors to choose from as well. There are separate prices for the kustard as opposed to the ice cream, with the ice cream being a little bit more expensive.

Walking the streets and paths around canal fulton in the summertime is always just that much better with a refreshing 'county fair-style' hand-shaken lemonade and some hot food.

Back in the day, you had to walk up to the gas station for cash. This business is cash only, and tips are gratefully accepted by tip jar. In recent years they've made the upgrade of hosting an on-site ATM with a $2.50 service charge.

Behind the building is a seating area with a roof for shelter from the sun or rain while you enjoy your food. If the parking lot looks congested, I suggest parking right across the street at the park and walking up.

This was one of 3 jobs I've had slinging frozen treats. The field is stereotypically a female dominated industry, but when I was there, I always felt respected and that my contributions were valued. That's an all too rare quality for an employer in this day and age. I'm grateful to have had the experience. Thank you, Lea.

Try a milkshake with pistachio and pineapple.

1 scoop Chocolate Rainforest 1 scoop Coconut Avalance is heavenly.

And this is one of the rare places to roll up to and get a good Chicago Dog - dont forget the celery salt!

Parking: Tight quarters. The parking lot is difficult to navigate with a full size vehicle or truck.
